INTRODUCTION
 Health and social care means to provide good
services to patients so that they can recover soon.
social care is used to help someone by providing
physical and emotional support.
 The purpose is to help people to live their happily
and healthy manner (Moudatsou and et.al., 2020).
 The report examines, roles and responsibilities of
a health and social care professional like, GP,
language therapist, psychologist and social
worker.

Roles and responsibilities of health and social
care
 It is important to provide good environment to patient who is not well so that they can
recover soon and live their life happily.
 In the given case study of Ola, there are four professionals i.e., social worker, GP,
language therapist and psychologist.
 All the members has different roles and responsibilities and work as a team to improve
health of Ola.

Social worker
 Social worker is responsible for providing advice to patient, support and resources to
patient and their family members to solve the problem.
 Social worker is working with specific groups which includes, children, elder and
families in crisis.
 Social worker is responsible for solving problem face by individuals or their family
members.
 They are responsible for creating and implementing treatment plan which is beneficial
for patient.

GP
 General practitioner are present at the medical community and link with hospitals.
 They are protecting people from diseases and manage epidemics. General
practitioner treat a wide range of medical conditions and health issues.
 GP are important because they are looking after patients in their homes and
providing good treatment so that they can recover soon.
 They are part of much wider teams whose role includes promoting, preventing and
providing treatment to patient to improve their health (Curtis and et.al., 2017).

Language therapist
 Language therapist communicates with the patient and try to identify problem faced by
patient and try to solve it.
 Language therapist provide life-changing treatment, support and care for children who
are facing difficulty in communication, eating etc.
 Language therapist provides screening, assessment, treatment, management and
counselling services so that patient can recover soon and share problem so that solution
can be find.

Speech and language therapist
 Speech and language therapist provides support and care to children by interacting with
them.
 They are interacting with children who are having difficulty in communication, eating,
drinking etc (Volkmer, Spector, Warren and Beeke, 2020).
 During speech therapy, therapist try to interact with children by playing and talking with
them.
 They are using books, pictures and other objects to communicate with children.
 Speech and language therapist help stimulate language development.

Barriers for language therapist
 There are some barriers which is faced by speech and language therapist are, high case
load, lack of materials, scheduling, making plans for therapy treatment and all the
children are different from each other (Palmer, Witts and Chater, 2018).
 So, different ways are used to communicate with children. Some people misunderstand
role of speech and language therapist.
 These are some barrier which is faced by language therapist.

Inter professional about speech and language therapist
 Inter professional refers to communication that is occurred between two or more
professional people.
 Speech and language therapist interact with social worker and GP.
 Language therapist interact with doctor, nurses and family members of patietnt
(Morgan and et.al., 2019).
 Language therapist communicate with GP and nurses to improve health of patient.
 Language therapist interact with other professionals to achieve a common goal.
