INTRODUCTION
Good health is the basic need of society, people are suffering from different kinds of
diseases. It is essential that people get aware from these infected illness and get proper treatmnet
from the care homes. Medication and treatment provide by medical professionals assist in
minimizing the risks of individual. Some legislation has been made by the authorities which
enable service providers to deliver good care to end users. Present report is based on the Game
Care home which is working in London (Anderson and et.al, 2014). Currently it has poor care
practices and it is unable to meet with the care needs of patients. Assignment will focus on
several principles which can support in making good HSC practices. Various theories of health
care will be illustrated in this study. Impact of social processes will be covered in this report.
TASK 1
1.1
Principles are the fundamental norms which defines such rules and values which are
positive for the group, organization or for individual. These principles support people in getting
faire and proper treatment in the hospitals (Bowling, 2014). Equality act 2010, Human rights acts
1998, Data protection act 1998 etc. are some regulation which aid in making excellent care
practices. Principle of support is the main fundamental truth of health care industry. Firms are
required to give proper care and support to its patients. As per the given scenario Game Care
home is poor practices, hazardous material were left unsecured, it has poor care plan, quality of
maintaining records are poor. Care home was not capable to give effective treatment and support
to patients. It is necessary that service providers encourage and promote rights of patients and
discourage discrimination in the hospitals. It was essential for medical professionals to provide
him special attention so that it individual could recover from its illness. Care Quality commission
(CQC) has maintained that Game care home's record keeping system, is very poor, it is required
that they keep secure data of patients. As in the case of Mrs Owen, no staff member was paying
attention on her, they were not taking care of the patient well. As she was the dementia patient so
she was needed help of care providers because she was suffering from problem of memory lose.
Many times Mrs. Owen failed out of the wheelchair. Doctors were needed to support her
otherwise she could suffer from physical damage. Principle of support is very necessary to adopt
by the care home because by this way, members of care home will be able to understand

procedure to maintain privacy in the workplace (Chestnut and et.al, 2014.). Data protection act
ensures that hospitals keep secure data of employees and patients, but this practice was not
followed by the Game care home as per he report of CQC. As Mr. Evans were suffering from
mind learning disability so it was required to keep secure the information of Mr. Evans, medical
staff need not to share this important information with others. It was breaching of law because
they have liked the personal data of the patient. It was needed to support the patient by making it
confidential so that service user could get treatment without any hesitation. Some times different
culture create problem in communication. Equality act ensures that practitioners give equal
treatment to all patients, there should not be any discrimination in the hospitals. It is required
that service users get effective treatment and care provides analyse their situation and according
to their needs they should provide them proper treatment. It is evident that principle of support
was not followed by Game care home in its practices (Muth and et.al, 2014).
As newly appointed manger in Game care home, individual is required to review all the
process of hospital, person is required to put new procedure of back ground check of workers,
policies of the care home needed to be reviewed timely by manager so that draw backs of Game
care home according to CQC report can be improved immediately. Essay has indicated that
Game were having poor services, they ignored legislation and people were getting poor services.
1.2
Care quality commission states that safeguarding is all about protecting people's health
and well being. It is all about to protect human so that they can live their lives harmless (Drotar,
2014). Thee are many kinds of harm and abuse such as physical, psychological, sexual, financial
etc. Game care home had poor practices, people were not protected from risks. Risks of persons
were not timely reviewed by medical staff members.
According to the report of CQC, Game care home was doing wrong activities,
organization was failed to provide proper care to its patients according to their needs. As per
given scenario Mrs. Owen was dementia patient so she was needed support and protection by
medical professionals. Doctors of Game care home could be able to protect her by taking care of
her, many times she loosed her balance on wheelchair so care worker was needed bed to be
associated with her all time. Staff members was required to Record keeping was very drastic,
people were unsafe in the organization. For protecting clients, patients and colleagues from
harm, manger of Game care home is required to take appropriate action so that risk can get

minimized. To safeguarding of people, manager is required to implement regulations which are
necessary to follow by all in the care home. Health and Safety act 1974 is needed to follow by
workers to protect own self and others. Game care home is required to provide protection against
hazardous equipments (Hart, 2013). They should protect vulnerable adults and have to treat them
well. Manager is required to implement the law of RIDDOR in the workplace, individual needed
to report the authority about death rates, injuries and diseases of patients so that they can take
proper action to minimized the risks. Data protection act is required to follow to maintain
confidentiality of workers and patients. Manager should give staff members proper training so
that they can be able to deliver effective care to service users and can decrease mortality rate of
patients in the hospital. They should make proper care plan and should communicate properly so
that hand over of shifts can be done effectively. Lower staff need to use protecting cloths, they
should get training to treat vulnerable adults (Bennett, Dolin and Blaser, 2014). There must be
excellent monitoring by seniors and must be used CCTV cameras in grounds so that mis-
happenings can be avoided. Managers are required to take proper feedbacks from patients and
their families so that lacking points which were maintained in the report of CQC can be
improved.
1.3
In the earlier time doctors were having authority to take all decision regarding the health
of service users. In the directive approach, health professionals were taking final decision of
treatment. But later on it converts into non-directive approach, in which patients can raise their
voice to get proper treatment as per their convenient. But still they are many complains are rising
related to bad care such as in the case study of Game care home, hospitals was unable to provide
good services to patients.
Government has taken initiative to provide effective care to end users which is “liberating
the NHS', with the policy “No decision about me, with me” (Kadushin and Harkness, 2014). The
initiative became act of department of health after it. It has emerged the concept of person
centred approach in which doctors have to communicate properly about the care plan and service
user understand it and give its concern. This approach assist in building good relationship
between doctors and service users. Person centric approach gives benefit of strong relationship
between user and provider. It assists in increasing autonomy and independence, apart from this it
helps in improving well being of patients. This approach gives chance to medical professionals

to develop effective care plan and new services. Person centric concept needs to be adopted by
Game care home so that suffered patients can get impressive treatment. It supports service users
and their rights. With the help of this organization will be able to maintain privacy and dignity in
the hospital (Green and Thorogood, 2013). It developed communication and trust on each other
which was lacking in Game care home as per the report of CQC. As in case of Mrs. Owen if
medical professionals would discus the case of her with her family and friends so Jane Davis and
Emily Smith could be able to understand the medical condition of the her and they can
coordinate with doctors so this person centric approach will be able to give effective treatment to
patient.
1.4
Ethical dilemmas are the conflict's situation which may get arise at the time of providing
treatment to patients. According to the given scenario 8 year old Victoria Climbie who died
because of miscommunication and conflict. Beneficence states that “ to do good” but some times
medical professionals have to over ride their ethics and have to make such decisions which are
contradictory to ethics. Staff members of Game care home was not doing well they have to chose
such decision which can protect clients and patients. They must balance the individual wishes
and preferences. Being a health professional it is there duty to provide ethical environment to
patients but take decision which are beneficial for them (Pizzo and Poplack, 2015). It was the
main conflict reason in Game care home. Practitioners were taking their own decision and they
were not ready to listen service users properly. Thus, miscommunication took place which turned
into poor services. Risk benefit analysis is required to involve in care planning process. As in the
case of Mr. Evans, hospital staff was not keeping confidentiality and had liked the information of
patient. But in the case Mr. Evans, needed to give its positive concern because medical
profession knows better what is right for him. So his family was needed to support medical staff
and had to give their concern about the treatment. Mrs. Owen and her family friends were needed
to listen views of doctors and also medical persons were required to make them understand about
the situation of her. So by this way situation of Ethical dilemmas will not take place in near
future in the care home.

TASK 2
2.1
There are many legislation and code of practices which can assist in improving the
quality of care of Game care home. Care standard Act 2000, is the great policy which aim is to
reform the law which are related to inspection and care institution. Objective of policy is to
safeguard the persons from being abused (Pentland and et. al, 2016). Health and Safety act 1974
is the great regulation which assist in improving the quality of care in the hospitals. It works for
protecting employees and patients in the workplace. As there are many laws but they are not
implemented by Game care home yet successfully. Otherwise, Victoria would be a lived, thinks
are far away from right. This act make it compulsory to provide safety measures to service users,
In case of Mrs. Owen game care home was required to implement this law by this way mis
balance from wheel chair and other accidents would not take place. Game care home should
implement equality act 2010 strictly in the workplace so that discrimination can get finished in
the hospital. It has to ensure that people are getting equal treatment, hospital is required to
involve patients in the care plan so that miscommunication can be minimized.
Policy of health and social care act 2008-2012 are needed to implement by Game home
to prevent and control infection. It has to then judge and monitor the cleanness of surface area.
Hard washing should be compulsory. Patients should be allowed to take their own decision,
confidentiality should be maintained. Data protection act implement in the hospital so that it can
improve its record keeping system (Hudson and et.al, 2012). Care act 2014 is required to
implement, it assists in getting relevant information of patients so that care home can provide
effective care to them.
2.2
According to the given scenario Mr. Evans was suffering from learning disability in the
Game care home. Human right act assists in protecting the from vulnerability. It saves the
interest of patients and protect them from being abused. It is required to provide best working
environment to patients and care providers so that this act can be developed in the Game care
home. Manager is required to make proper plan and have to monitor he activities so that it can
develop this local and national policies effectively (Guerrero and et.al, 2013). Care standards act
2000 states that hospital must maintain set standards and provide service which matched with

these standards. By giving training to staff members, manager will be able to develop this
environment in the Game care home. In case of Mrs. Owen if medical staff were known about
the standard act then they would provide her effective treatment and accidents of mis balance of
wheel chaire, avoidance of treatment would not taken place. This can be achieved by reviewing
the needs of patients and doing research on best practices. CQC are required to check each policy
and its effects, apart from this they have to make effective amendments timely.
2.3
Polices, legislation, code of practices impact on the organizational policies and practices
to great extent. Health and Safety act 1974 impact positive on the policy of Game care home.
Because of poor practices, organization has declared as poor performer in the report of CQC.
With the help of this legislation, Game care home will be able to improve its structure , it will
develop uniformity and consistency in decision making (Pronk, 2014). This will help in
improving the services of care home and will help in minimizing hazardous activities. Policies
assists in providing effective care to patients and provide platform whee medical professionals
can assess planning for delivering proper care. Health and Safety act 1974 impacts positive on
Game care home policies, staff members will be able to provide required care to Mrs. Owen by
this way she would be able to be secure in the hospital. As a dementia patient care providers
would be able to pay close attention on her. This can be benefit of improving medical condition.
Social care act 2012 defines the responsibilities of care providers and guide them so that
they become able to deliver impressive services to end users. This act impacts positively and
improve the overall bad practices of Game care home. With the help of this policy care providers
will be able to understand heir duties and they will work from resolving the complains of
patients.
TASK 3
3.1
There are several theories which can assist in improving the quality of services of Game
care home. Risk management theory assist in minimizing the harm of the workplace. As Game
care home was using unsecure equipment, so this theory explains ways through which
organization can make secure its workplace. Risk management theory was not applied by Game
care home in case of Mr. Evans and Owen (McKenna and et.al, 2015). They should apply it in

such cases staff members needed to guide family members of Evans effectively and had to treat
him well by making them, understand about the care process. As per the given scenario care
home was required to take care of Mrs. Owen, but they were failed to protect her. Risk
management theory give them proper knowledge about risks attached with her so they would be
able to take care of her properly. Learning theory assists in making staff member aware and
understand the behaviour of patients so that it can provide effective care to service users. Social
learning theory direct that people can learn from imitating others behaviour.
3.2
Eduction, unemployment, poverty, margination impact on the service users. Due to lack
of education people are unaware of laws and rights of them. Thus, they were facing
discrimination in the hospitals and not getting appropriate treatment from Game care home. They
were dominated by medical professionals of cited firm. These are affecting the well being of
service users. As Mr. Evans was neglected by doctors and it could create problem of physical
harm and person can go in depression (Mechanic, 2012). Poverty affects the quality of life,
people eat unhygienic food which impact on their health. Dementia patients lose their memory,
they make distance with society so Mrs. Owen was required proper care but due to negligence of
doctors, she got improper treatment. Due to isolation persons can lose their confidence and can
become depressed. Game care home can provide them effective treatment by improving its
practices.
3.3
Inter professional working is the process in which all different profession's person work
together to provide effective care to service users. It is very effective as if implemented by Game
care home then it will be able to coordinate with experts so that positive outcome will be
occurred. As Game care home is working in isolation, it has no support, to improve quality of
services, Game care home will be able to maintain transparency in its care plan. If this
transparency was in the case of Mrs. Owen then her condition may be recovered soon. Thus, it
will be able to improve its services by getting support from other professionals (National
Service Framework for Older People 2001, 2014). Some patients of cited firm are not getting
treatment because of lack of hygienic equipments so by working in partnership it will be able to
get financial support so it would be able to use advanced equipments which can provide good
services to service users. As there is problem of confidentiality and poor record keeping, this

problem can be minimized if Game care home make coordination with other agencies and
professionals (Principle in care home, 2014).
TASK 4
4.1
My role and responsibilities as a manager of Game health care company is, cooperate
with my employees. In order to care of the people, I have to develop plan within my job
description which encounter by the organization. In respect to this, I had also responsibilities
regarding leadership and direction. Thus, I could set my plan according to updating polices and
rules for the enterprise. In addition to this, my duties is to show my clearly leadership through I
will be able to make transparency and communication very effective in term of policies and
rules. As Mrs. Owen was not getting proper care in Game care home, so being a manger it is the
responsibility of mine to guide and train lower staff properly so that they pay attention on her
and work for improving her condition. As results, I can easily demonstrate rules and regulations
regarding fundamental of the business. I also made plan which is related with, government
legislation and inspections like care quality commission. In this context, consultant with
manager retain overall responsibility for day to day work (Principle in care home, 2014). As
results, I was able to run national and local regulations patients healthcare. In addition to this,
local regulation protect employees and good relations among them.
Further, patients health is a procedure through I can improve the care process and protect
employees towards their disease. Therefore, I was able to deliver good and effective services in
the organization. As results, I had done various responsibilities towards the patients of Game
care home.
4.2
In order to contribute participation in development of organizational objectives, it is
important to make clear and unforeseeable reason within the enterprise. I gave my contribution
in this development through effective team-working. In respect to this, I also worked in
partnership with effective skills and knowledge. In respect to this, I mixed various skills together
in Game care home so that I will able to implement policies and changes very effectively, these
policies and legislation can support the patients like Mrs. Owen to get effective treatment from
service providers. In addition to this, I also use effective management through I can implement

energy and commitment to make the partnership very effective. In respect to this, cited firm had
various adequate policies and rules through I can develop services of home care. Along with this,
in care home effective management and leadership could be implemented by different policies
and laws. Thus, chosen enterprise can enhance their services effectively (Mechanic, 2012).
Further, home care also face problem regarding trust of the people or customers. As in
case of Mrs. Owner, her friends was not really convinced with the opinion of care providers so
by implementing policies, trust of them can get build to great extent. In respect to this, as a
manager I found reason for it and implement steps so that I able to implement plan easily. Plan is
developed for benefits of users. Beside this, I also contribute my contribution in to understanding
different language and culture of different countries. As results, organization can give their
services in systematically.
4.3
In the term of management role I could recommend that new procedure helped to Game
home care. This is because, it ensures effective guidelines and references would be implemented
by delegate staff. In addition to this, I also follow rules and regulation regarding safety and
prevention role of the community. Thus, organization could able to solve the problems of care
users easily. According to my point of view, person is also responsible for hazards and reporting
disease which are dangerous for the people. As dementia patients lose their memory so doctors
of Game care home are required to protect them from hazardous activities. In order to remove
this thins, every member share their responsibility which make them very proud and motivated
towards the policies and procedures. In my managerial role, I also recommend safety priorities
which reflect national legislation and enforce to act. In addition to this, organization have also
used aspects to protect the employees in term of abuse (Pentland and et. al, 2016). Further, I also
apply health and safety to protect care users in term of spread of infection. For instance, I make
plan to washing hands, using personal protective clothing and ensure policies for control of the
substances.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that it is essential for care providers to
follow principles of HSC. By adopting legislation and policies workers ill be able to provide
effective care to patients. To improve practices, Game care home should use inter professional

working so that it can be able to get external support which can help it in improving its services.
It must follow standards act, health and safety act and equality act in the hospital. Medical staff
are required training so that they can understand their responsibilities and serve better to patients.
This will help in improving practices of care home.
