Introduction
Principle of care is crucial in the field of health and social care. This principle describes
the way health and social care workers need to provide their services towards the individual care
(Matiti and Bailey, 2020). The study will cover my learning about the principle of care and it
potential impact in health & social care setting. Further, the impact of experience on personal
development and growth will also cover in the given study.
a)Identify something which you have learned about Principles of Care, outline how this might
influence your approach in health and social care
In health and social care, principle of care is crucial in order to provide better and
effective services to the patients. It states that health and social workers are required to perform
their duties appropriately to provide better care & assistance to the patients. It depends on the
health care workers. how they handle the patients to ensure their safety in the future period of
time (Dall'Oglio and et. al., , 2018). I am working as a healthcare worker hence I need to perform
different roles & responsibilities to provide better care to the patients. During my practice, I
have learned that the healthcare workers are required to provide the best possible assistance to
the patients as they per their health conditions. There is requirement to provide more care to the
serious patients. In addition, I learned that a healthcare worker needs to work in the best possible
interest of the individuals. This learning will significantly influence my practices in the field of
health and social care which can be understood by the implication of Gibbs reflection model.
Steps of the respective model are given as follows:
Description: It is the first step where I need to handle a critical patient. I handled the case
with my team members . As I did not have much experience of handling such critical cases hence
I took support and assistance of my seniors to tackle the situation appropriately.
Feelings: In this stage, I felt anxious, frustrated due to my first and foremost experience
of handling such critical incident. However, Me and my team members put maximum efforts to
provide the best possible help to the patient. During the situation, all the people were anxious and
put their best to get positive outcomes.

Evaluation: Here, the positive aspect of the situation was to help me in conquering over
my fear. With my skill and knowledge, I did my best to serve the critical patient and got success.
I and my team members treated the patient appropriately. It was only possible by the efforts of
all the team members.
Conclusion: However, this situation could have been handles more effectively with the
use of necessary medical equipments and tools. If I will face this kind of situation again in
future, I will use deal it with courage. I will make maximum use of my skills & capabilities in
order to provide better care to the patient.
Action: To improve my knowledge, I will join necessary workshops and seminars. In
addition, I will extract knowledge from different online and offline sources in order to improve
my overall knowledge base to deal with the situation effectively in the future period of time.
b)How can such experience influence personal development and insight
The experience gave me opportunity to embark my knowledge in real situation. It boost
my confidence and made me enable to deal with such situation effectively in the future period of
time. During the situation, I worked in a team of different individuals. It improved my team work
skills. As a result, now, I can work in the team of different people effectively. Team work skills
will assist me in enhancing in my career in the future period of time. Apart from this, I learned
different skills from my team members that will make me enable to achieve tremendous success
in professional career. Most importantly, the experience improved my skills regarding personal
care that will make allow me to further grow in the career in health care domain. Through this
experience, I am able to develop different skills and capabilities in terms of team work, health
care knowledge and more. This experience will not only contribute in my professional growth
but will also improve my overall personality in an efficient manner.

Conclusion
Through the above-information, it is analyzed that personal care is about providing the
best possible assistance to the individuals as per requirement. It is analyzed that I faced several
situations during my health care career which improved my overall experience. It has been
evaluated by the application of gibbs reflection model. This experience will help in growing
personal and professional career efficiently.
