LO1: Issues related to health and social care
Q1) Information based on health and social care extends to the public domain. [P1.1]
The knowledge based on health and social care plays a vital role in structuring a particular
society. People in recent years are facing much more difficulties in eliminating their
diseases. One of the major health care issues, which can be seen nowadays, is dependent
on diabetes. It has become a significant disease due to improper knowledge about the
disease among the people (Crook et al. 2016). The information about this healthcare issue
needs to follow an appropriate presentation to reach the public domain. The information is
spread with the help of newspapers, advertisement that shows the instruments available to
check diabetes any time at home. Technology has become a significant media that provides
adequate knowledge about this disease to the public domain (Haimowitz, 2016). Therefore,
the information system has made people more reliable in developing their lifestyles to
control diabetes.
Diabetes in recent years has become one of the contemporary health issues that further
increase the risks of death. With this various information provided to the diabetic patients
helps to check their sugar levels regularly along with maintenance in food control.
Spreading information related to health and social care to provide awareness and care to
the people of the society. The systems also need to maintain the sources of information to
provide appropriate information for using various techniques to control diabetes. Spreading
this information depends on various factors including organization, cost, and importance of
this information (Crook et al. 2016). The information system also provides advertisements
involve small videos that are related to diabetes to raise the consciousness of the people.
Various factors including Google ads, news, banners, seminars, newspaper articles along
with cinemas can also increase awareness among the people.
Q2) Different techniques for disseminating information [P1.2, M1]
The use of an information system is required for making aware of
diabetes among a huge population of crowd facing diabetic diseases.
The main aim is being focused on those diabetic patients to control their
sugar level as well as to maintain their diets properly (Haimowitz, 2016).
There are various techniques involved in disseminating information to
increase the awareness among the people. These techniques include
radio broadcast, news, providing banners, advertisements in television,
arrangement for seminars, various warning videos along with
advertisements in social media. Being a popular method, social media
has helped to create awareness among these people to encourage their
motivation for living in their society (Crook et al. 2016). With the help of
these seminars and advertisements that help in providing knowledge
about the basic necessities which is required to follow for maintaining the
diabetic level among the patients. It also helps to motivate the family
members for cooperating in these programs by providing them with
accurate information. Thus, it further helps in developing the health as
well as social care by providing knowledge to the public domain.
Q3) Different ways that influence the thoughts, behavior, and attitudes of the
people [P1.3, D1]
The information system in recent years has developed much more in case of relating
various diseases that are mainly involved in spreading actual knowledge to the
people. Media has become one of the important factors in every section of the
society and especially helped in medical science to develop as well as to make
people aware of the diseases that inherent within themselves. The use of media can
influence the people either in a negative or in a positive way through the motive may
be involved in a positive way. While presenting the information to the people the main
aim is to focus on the positive aspects that would aware the people instead of taking
it in a negative way. Therefore, the information system needs to follow the attitude,
thoughts, and behavior of the people while receiving knowledge from this media
(Haimowitz, 2016). The attitudes and behavior of people vary from one person to
another. Therefore, many people can take positive advertisements in a negative way
or negative information in a positive way. It is significant that the information needs to
be provided in such a way that their minds would travel in one path. Then only it can
change the attitude, thoughts, and behavior of the people in the society.
While presenting the information to the people it needs to be notified that its style of
representing needs to be appropriate as it is the main way of influencing the public
domain. The advertisements of children based on sugary content, as chocolate
advertisements need to be banned for influencing the attitude and behavior of the
people. Even various advertisements on junk foods would stimulate people for
excessive consumption. Therefore, the media needs to focus on healthy foods to
ensure the people of society to keep them fit. The attitudes, thoughts, and beliefs of
the people can be different from one another due to various factors including socio-
economy, religious beliefs, lifestyle as well as physical factors.

Q4) Ways of media that influences the attitudes and behavior people [P2.1]
From the case study, it has been analyzed that female genital mutilation is a common
practice in the UK, Asia, and Africa. The knowledge that the people are aware of FGM
is the negative aspects that the women would face during their childbirth. This surgical
technique is used to remove the overall clitoris presented in the female reproductive
system (Egbodo et al. 2018). With the help of media, it is significant that the information
regarding this FGM issue helps the people to make aware of the future problems related
to pregnancy. Therefore, it is important for every woman to understand future problems
that may arise from this issue. It is also found that various girl children have been
affected by this issue, which in turn led her to death (Thomson Reuters Foundation,
2018). It can be exemplified that there are no benefits involved in FGM instead of
providing various problems such as bleeding, severe pain during pregnancy and in
childbirth.
With the help of newspaper articles, advertisements in television, radio broadcast as
well as in seminars can influence the thought, behavior, and attitude of the people
regarding these practices (Unicef, 2018). The advertisements need to be more effective
based on the death rate so that it can provide warning rather than a general idea to the
people. These warnings would affect more precisely to them for controlling this issue in
the overall society. The advertisements need to be focused in a positive way to avoid
negative impact on different persons those who can take advantage of it (UN Women,
2017). This issue is related to women hence, it is regarded, as a sensitive issue in the
society would face both positive and negative impact in the society. Henceforth it is
important to put an impact on the negative aspects that leads to death among the
people of the society (BBC News, 2019). Different laws are also required to rise for
abolishing these practices among women.
Q5) Assessed by the public about the validity and reliability of media [P2.2, M2]
The use of FGM in different areas needs to change the attitudes of the people first,
which can be complex as well as psychologically painful (Sardi and Maldonado, 2016).
It is to acquire knowledge and information based on the factors of demography to

change the mind of society. While both the people and the government are being
educated, therefore it has become one of the major issues, which need to be prevented
(Medical News Today, 2017). Many people in these regions have signed agreements
for preventing these practices as well as some of them has tried to pass various laws
regarding the banning of FGM (Johnsdotter, 2018). Due to lack of central
administration, it has been disseminated in various countries. It has been notified that
most of the women are involved in supporting these practices. The use of tradition as
well as social pressures, which are main aspects, involved in continuing FGM in most of
the countries. The World Health Organization focuses that discontinuation of this
practice increases among the younger women.
The trust and reliability of media need to gain more importance among women rather
than men (World Health Organization, 2018). Due to their religious factors, they are
forced to do such practices. The media among this section needs to be more active to
supply positive knowledge for which providing education among these women becomes
the main objective (Zurynski et al. 2015). The religious leaders, community leaders, as
well as decision makers need to be with a positive mentality, which in turn modifies the
beliefs of the culture to abolish FGM. Some of the women are not exposed to mass
media that involve supporting this practice (Jackson, 2017). Therefore, it is significant to
provide higher education on FGM with the help of newspapers and television
advertisements for controlling it. Hence, by eliminating this practice can empower
women in every country (Ocloo and Matthews, 2016). With the help of empowerment
along with education can signify the power of media.

LO3: Related to a specific issue based on different perspectives [Refer to Poster
Presentation]
Q6) Different perspective on a specific issue related to health and social care
[P3.1]
One of the most popular social issues can be identified as Cancer that requires a huge
amount of care for these patients. While most of the people have knowledge about this
disease but quality, care is not obtained from the health institutions as well as in society.
For this cancer, people need to be more informative for providing much more quality
care to these patients (Cancer Research UK, 2017). This popular issue in recent years
affects children as well as adults and therefore they need to be provided with various
treatments based on chemotherapy. Different perspectives may vary from the point of
view based on various people as well as professionals. Mainly the perspective is
dependent on the settings of the clinic as well as the stakeholders involved in the
institutions. There needs to be a connection between a patient and a provider to
increase the level of the treatment (MedicalNewsToday, 2019). This disease is based
on the effectiveness of the cost that needs for treating the person at an affordable cost.
Therefore, the societal perspective thinks about the affordability that they might be able
to consider the cost. This deadly disease put an impact on the financial toxicity that
would affect the results of the cancer treatment.
Q7) Monitoring the different perspective gleaned from reliable sources [P3.2]
The introduction of media in medical science has put a major impact on educating as
well as providing knowledge to the patients as well as other people in society. In
previous years, people used to believe that the cause of this disease is based on the
core factor referred to as tobacco. While educating the people of the society it has been
exemplified that the main cause of cancer is due to abnormal cells along with the use of
excessive tobacco intake (Nature, 2019). This perspective of society has been changed
with the help of various advertisements. From the society’s point of view, it can be
noticed that the people with this disease are seen emotionally which make the patients
more depressed and alienated from other people (MedicalNewsToday, 2019). The
professionals provide these patients with positive encouragement to stay active and
relived for the rest of their lives. For increasing, the perspective of the people in getting

the symptoms based on children needs to be educated appropriately by the
professionals. In recent years, it has been seen that the greater understanding of this
disease can help to improve the quality of healthcare, which rather increases the
survival of cancer patients.
Q8) Local practices involved after assessing the relevance of its findings [P3.3,
M3]
The health and social care practices involved in cancer are very dependent on the
health institutions that are regulating all these patients every day. The local practices
are the health authorities that lack those quality care as well as treatments of these
types of patients. Due to abnormal cell division and genes are responsible for the
occurrence of cancer in most of the people (Cancer Research UK, 2017). Most of the
people die due to lack of proper treatment and medications served in the health care
institutions. The people from the health and social care organizations need to be more
advanced in providing treatment to the poor people that are facing these types of
diseases. In local practices, this disease cannot be identified at the initial stage and
after identifying the main cause, they are hospitalized in government-associated
institutions. These institutions do not provide much treatment as it is a costly disease,
which requires a huge amount of money to be invested in these hospitals. The people’s
attitude towards them also changes after investigating this disease.
Q9) Factors influenced by developing different perspectives [P3.4, D2]
A piece of comprehensive knowledge is being provided to the people to understand the
key factors involved in the disease in which one of the major factors can be determined
as an environmental factor. The environmental disruptions occur while networking the
cells in a particular body or organ (Cancer Research UK, 2017). Various researchers
have found that most of the factors involved in cancer are due to genes and
environmental factors. Therefore, it exemplifies that various external factors get involved
with the genes and then cell abnormality occurs which causes cancer. Aromatic amines
are the cause of bladder cancer in which chemical workers are involved. From the
cellular and molecular perspective, it can be notified that prognosis present in cancer
patients which leads to a development in tumor cell inside the body (Nature, 2019).
Furthermore, the tumor cell becomes able to penetrate in the tissues that help in the

formation of cancer disease. The research helps in identifying the lead factors, which
would limit the progress of the tumor and would reduce the level of mortality.
LO4: Influence on the issues from contemporary perspectives
Q10) Local attitudes [P4.1]
The attitudes of the local people change after expressing the costiveness involved in
media while spreading knowledge about diabetic patient. The thoughts of the people
further raise to the national level as the media based on advertisement are surrounded
in the overall nation. After analyzing the key aspects, the report claims that diabetic
patients are most probably found to be depressed and emotional due to the change of
thinking of society. The media that perform on a large scale of participants put either
negative impact or positive impact on the advertisements provided to society (Crook et
al. 2016). While the main objective of this information system provides positive aspects
but due to various religious and cultural, beliefs would change the attitude of the people
to a negative point of view. The people of the local community need to cooperate with
diabetic patients to develop the social as well as health care systems that would reduce
the level of global health issues.
Q11) Validity of the public behavior and attitude on a specific issue [P4.2, D3]
Media has become one of the major items in handling diabetic patients as well as the
disease itself. The patients of this disease need to maintain a proper healthy diet to
maintain their blood sugar levels. Or else it would increase day by day. This disease
can be controlled but cannot be cured completely. Health and social care capture
various patients belong to a different society. These people rather have a different
attitude based on a different society. The organizations of health and social care, is
being conducted, with the help of providing education to the people. The people of the
health and social care organizations need to understand the procedures in handling
these patients who are coming here to take various help and services based on caring
them implemented in the organization (Ocloo and Matthews, 2016). Various issues are
being conducted by this organization related to social health, spiritual health, and
environmental health and so on. The organization’s people need to be more conscious
about the validity of people with different behavior and attitude. The people need to
change their views for achieving the positive impact provided by the media to increase
5

the validity of treatment as well as in securing their lives. The medications, diets as well
as exercises become the major aspects for the survival of these diabetic patients to
increase their life profundity in society. Therefore, in recent years, it has been found that
the education of these types of diseases through advertisements is increasing the
positive effect in the minds of the people.
Q12) Consequences of contemporary thinking
People those are leaving in the urban region of society can think the health and social
issues. It is necessary to grab a profound vision regarding the consequences of issues
for the successful development of knowledge regarding contemporary issues. Without
having insights into the consequences of Diabetes, it is impossible to improve social
and health care (Boonsatean et al. 2016). Through the intense research and
development procedures, people can grab the idea regarding Diabetes. Henceforth,
physicians can elevate their invention techniques and medicines can be manufactured
to combat Diabetes issues using the knowledge. However, it is observed through the
assessment that people have a lack of awareness regarding vaccine manufacturing
regarding Diabetes management (Crowe et al. 2017). The modern era of technology
can be considered as bliss for the development of healthcare. Using advanced
technologies, Diabetes can be mitigated from people’s life. Nevertheless, delivering apt
knowledge regarding Diabetes elimination techniques, awareness among people can be
accelerated.
It has been observed through the intense analysis of healthcare activities that most of
the healthcare services are prescribed for elderly people. Therefore, contemporary
social issues cannot be highlighted through the procedure (Alanzi, 2018). A significant
impact of Diabetes can be identified among people irrespective of their ages. Hence, it
is necessary to design a standard framework for Diabetes elimination to eliminate social
issues, which are related to Diabetes. Due to this reason, mass media has been
agitated after watching the increased rate of Diabetes among people (Khooshehchin et
al. 2016). Consequently, it needs to be reminded that the rate of education regarding
healthcare and social care exponentially decreasing. Therefore, an adverse impact can
be observed on the society regarding the reduction of social awareness. In order to
improve this situation, people need to enhance awareness campaigns regarding

consequences of Diabetes. Most importantly, vision regarding medication, medic as well
as social services can be developed through the technique (Crowe et al. 2017). Without
capturing the attention of people on this serious issue, people may experience huge
destruction that can affect people.
