INTRODUCTION

The present report have focus on identifying the purpose as well as procedure of
conducting research in enabling evidence based practices. It also emphasizes on determining the
skills as well as qualities required for conducting literature review in heath and social care.

health and social care.
Evidence based research in health and social care setting can be defined as a procedure
which includes collecting., processing as well as implementation of finding of research in order
to bring improvement in clinical practices, working environment and also patient outcome. It
assist management in bringing improvement in quality of services (Barbara, 2014). The purpose
of research in health and social care setting is to allow nurses to utilize scientific thoughts in
their routine practices. Investigation in health and social care includes systematic seeking of
knowledge. Research process in Heath and social care setting include :
 Development of idea: It is considered to be as initial stage. There are varieties of sources
from where ideas can be generated these are feedback from employees, comments of
service users, internal audit etc.
 Converting idea into : It is required by researcher in health and social care to develop
clear research questions. Formulation of clear questions will assist researcher in
identifying as well as selecting an appropriate investigation techniques as well as
designs.
 Reviewing the literature review: In depth review of available research evidences is very
much necessary for identifying the scope of research.
 Selecting the study design and methods: the selection of research design is completely
based on questions. The research design can be categorized into two these are qualitative
and Quantitative.

good writing skills is very much important. Communication skills in health and social care
setting is very important in health and social care sector. An ineffective communication can give
rise to ethical issues in a health care organization. It can create major barriers in delivering the

quality services to customers. In addition to this, critical as well as analytical skills are also very
much crucial for writing literature review. While writing a literature review, it is very much
important for an individual to gain knowledge about health and social care practices. In addition
to this, it is very much crucial for an individual to develop the understanding about the way
citations are being done in literature review.
C) Analysis of current skills as well as knowledge for conducting literature review
Description : I have participated in group activity. I and my team members were given a task to
write research report. I have been assigned a task to write literature review , as I have much
knowledge about the topic as compared to other team members.
Feeling : I have good customer services skills but I lot lots of grammatical mistakes which I
perceive that the changes the meaning of complete sentence.
Analysis: In other words I need to improve my writing as well as presentation skills which is
very much important for writing literature review. I also need to increase my participation in
group activities and require communicating with team members, as this will assist me in
enhancing my medical knowledge.
Plan of actions : I will seek support from my leaders in order to improve my writing skills and
will of regulars practice of writing. I will take language classes for improving my grammar. In
addition to this, I also perceive that I need to engage myself critically with the text.
D Utilization of work break down structure and Gantt chart for managing key deliverables
Gantt chart is considered to be as an effective tool for managing the research project. It is
very useful as well as helpful in development of plans as well as scheduling of project. Gantt
chart support manager in determining the time required for completing the project. It also assists
leader in identifying the resources required for completing the project. Gantt chart is basically a
project planning tools which is generally utilized for representing the timing for task required
for completion of project (Ahmed, 2017). In addition to this work break down structure supports
manager in making the task easier to be executed (Boerma and Fleming, 2017. ). Work
breakdown structure helps in improving productivity. It also supports in scheduling, determining
costs as well as risks. Work breakdown describes the deliverable needed to complete the project.
It also helps in defining the scope of project. Work break down structure is also utilized for
describing the roles as well as responsibility of all team members.

It has been concluded room the report that there are various skills such as analytical
skills, critical thinking and knowledge about topic is very much important for writing literature
review. Study has also concluded that purpose of research in health and social care is to identify
the needs of service users as well as to bring the improvement in patient outcome. It has been
concluded from the assignment that Gantt chart is very useful as well as helpful in managing
project.
