Health care is basically that type of care which is based on provision of medical care in
order to improve the health outcome of individuals and community. This type of care is basically
provided by health care professionals, nurses, midwives and care workers. Social care is related
to meeting out the social need of people who are suffering from mental disabilities of physical
needs. Present report will lay emphasis in the overview of organization and their roles. It will lay
focus on elements of health care provision. Report also lay emphasis on elements of social care
provision.

Historical Context
The National health service organization was being started in the year 1948. It was
launched with the motive of providing quality of health care services to individuals who were in
need. The services provided by NHS was made free at the point of use for all people who were
living in United Kingdom (Morgan and et.al., 2017). It has been analysed that National health
service organization is been engaged in treating more than 1 million service users every 36
hours. This clinical care setting is being funded directly from taxation. It was analysed that
during the time of launching the organization budget decided for the company was £437 million.
It has been analysed that in year 2015-2016 the overall budget made up for running the company
was around £116.4 billion.
NHS was basically developed in order to provide free health and care services to who are
in need of it. The organization was based on some core and basic principles it included that they
wanted to meet out needs and demand of patients. They were also engaged in delivery the
services free of cost. The main focus of National health service was on clinical need, not the
ability to pay. When initially the organization was started they were unable to cover half of the
population who was in serious needs and it included mostly women and children. So after some
