INTRODUCTION
In today's scenario health and social care practices are very much essential and these can
be considered as the most effective part of human life. People are affected by various kinds of
diseases. In this modern era people are very much concern about their health and safety as each
individual want easy, safe and comfortable life style without facing any kind of issue and
problems. People needs to aware about the issues and diseases, so that these can be resolved in
most efficient manner (Lee, Mahendra and Alvarez, 2010). The health and social care sector are
very much focused on providing high quality and best services to their potential customers in
order to satisfying their needs and wants. This sector is very much concern about maintaining
privacy and also focused on minimising the risk and hazardous. The present report is based on
different case studies which are related with health and social care sectors. In this report various
principles of health and social care practices are explained in detail.
TASK 1
1.1 Principles are applied to ensure that Denis is cared for in the residential care home.
The health and social care has various sections and departments which are helpful in
providing healthcare services to people in order to fulfilling their special needs and wants. The
major aim of health and social care practices are to provide support to the services users in
respect of satisfying their actual needs and wants. The principles of support needs to be applied
in a specific way so that it helps in providing proper assurance and maintain the well-being and

arrived at a residential home care in the age of 92 after spending seven weeks in hospital. He
suffered with the issue of hypothermia and he collapsed at home. After passing his wife Denis
feel isolated and alone at home and it has been noted by support worker and doctors that Denis
has tried various attempts to harming his self due to frustration (Quinlan, Bohle and Lamm,
2010). The major issue which is faced by Denis is money as he was not having sufficient money
to taking advantage of comfortable hospitality services and his pension not going far. Residential
care home are very much concern about providing best and comfortable services to their
potential customers in order to ensuring about safety and security. Principles are simply
considered as the guidelines which usually followed by health and social care in order to gaining

from illness should be provided with proper care services by nurse in order to reduce risk to
harm other colleagues, staff members as well as to other clients (Salvendy, 2012). The caretaker

Mrs Helen as well as her foetus. But as per her values, beliefs and religions views the care taker
and health care professional do not liable to force for surgery (Zanko and Dawson, 2012). The
surgery and further treatment should be carried out only after free consent of lady. So, this is an
condition of dilemma or conflict which arises many times in front of health care workers while
dealing with different patients and their ethical values. So, the professional care workers should
act responsibly which is bests for the patient and their professional responsibilities in order to
help the society people effectively and helping them to recover faster from illness.
