In every business organisation, there is some possibility of accident or harm which may
affect employee’s health. Thus, organisation's top authority is required to manage uncertain hazard
in such manner so as employees can safely carry their business performance and activities(Greener,
2009). In addition to this, health and safety is significant to protect employees in the organisation.
Furthermore, government has developed various legislation functions and code of conduct which
assist in protecting health of employees in the organisation. In this project report, various systems,
policies, procedures for communicating information have been discussed. In addition to this,
responsibilities regarding health and safety at each level of organisation structure has also
mentioned in this report. Moreover, the risk assessment factors through which organisation can
provide protection to workforce is also studied in this project. The major objective of this report is
to understand the role of health and safety legislation in the health and social care organisation.
TASK 1
1.1 Review of systems, policies and procedures for communicating information on health and safety
in the case setting
Health and safety is essential in the health and social care organisation. The safety of health
experts and staff member is the major responsibility of the top management. In health care
organization, there are various types of system, policies; procedures which are used for
communicating information of health and safety in the care setting.

3.3 Evaluation of own contribution to placing health and safety needs of individual
As a care practitioner in the health and care organisation, I have various roles and
responsibility to protect and deliver quality services to patients. My major objective is to deliver
such effective and quality care services and facility to service users so as they can easily improve
their health issues and disability. For this objective, I have to evaluate my own contribution thus I

identify so as management can easily improve the process of medical services. In this
context the available hazards and risk and their impact on the service usesr as well as care
practitioners may define the effectiveness of health and safety policies (Healy, 2011)
Risk assessment- Risk assessment is another effective method to monitor and review
policies and practices of health and safety in the care organisation. By this, management can
easily identified that how many hazards and risk are available in the organisation. Thus,
management can improve the existing policies and practices of the care organisation. Beside
this, for the identified new area of hazards , the new policies and procedure can be
developed for the safety objective.

documentation should be in an effective manner under which all policies and practices are included.
The objective of that document is to develop attention about preventing uncertain hazards and
accidents. On the other hand I have to conduct the risk assessment process under which I can
identify that how many hazards and risk are available in the care organisation and how the impact
on the health of care workers as well as patients. By maintaining this record related to hazards and
risk in the care organisation, I can control their negative impact on the health of people. Further
more, I can conduct the feedback process under which I can collect the feedback from service users
related to policies and practices of health and safety in the organisation. If there are any lacking then
I will communicate to manager for improve them. In addition to this, I have responsibility to check
the performance of many junior subordinate at workplace. Thus, I can improve the entire process of
delivering the health care services in the care home.
CONCLUSION
Health and safety of employees in the organisation is the prior duty of management, it is
major responsibility and priority of the management to develop and follow effective policies and
practices in order to render safety and security from uncertain hazards and accidents. From this
project report it has been founded that care organisation should follow the legislation and code of
practices in order to deliver effective care services to patients. It has also concluded that there has a
positive impact of the system, policies and legislative framework in regard of health and safety in
the organisation. It has recommended that Slade house should develop a proper planning related to
health and safety for their patients so as they can escape from the accidents in the organisation.
