INTRODUCTION
Health and social care association play an important role in order to deliver quality
service to each and every individual properly and supporting them to get recover in an
appropriate frame (Aveyard, 2014). This project is based on support work in health care so that
appropriate understanding could be done. For this aspect, roles need to understand properly
which involve in non direct care in social environment. Along with this, team working is
important so that effective and absolute working could be done. All these aspect, need to get
evaluated by considering the example of Wellington Hospital.
TASK 1
P1 Identify roles of non direct care workers
A non direct care workers stated as such individual whom are not specified for a
particular job or working. They are not involve in any specific work or job and usually perform
their working so that effective and efficient services get render. Thus, it is essential for
Wellington Hospital to determine the role of non direct care workers through which better and
suitable services get deliver to many individual whom basically suffering from mental health,
dementia etc. Office administrator: Their major role is to manage regular activities and attend the care
workers properly (Brett and et. al., 2014). Although they have to manage office related
duties in social care environment. Like in resident nursing, receptionist have to attend the
family members of their patient and provide them a time for meeting them.
Security staff: Another non direct care workers whom are involved in social care
environment but their duties is not specific to secure the care home but they do aid in
manage and control various patient whom are suffering from mental health problems.
These are the roles which used to perform by non direct care workers of Wellington Hospital so
that effective and appropriate services lead to deliver to target number of patient which enables
in better and suitable working so that recovery in health of individual become possible.
P2 Interpersonal skills required for non direct care workers
Non direct care workers are not involved in any kind of operations directly for a specified
area but their working get vary as well. In this consideration they require several interpersonal

skills which used to underpin by Wellington Hospital in an appropriate and suitable frame which
define as follow: Verbal communication skill: These are such skills and attribute which present through
speaking. Verbal communication is helpful in order to take frequent decisions so that
effective and efficient working get promoted (Cameron and et. al., 2014). Such individual
have to maintain their tone while taking with senior or any service provider as well as
they also required to listen each and every consideration properly which further support
in effective and appropriate decision.
Non verbal communication: Another kind of communication is non verbal through
which body language and gesture, dress and presentation etc. evaluate an individual
personality dimensions properly. Although, security staff, office administrator staff need
to wear appropriate and respected dress which present their work and chances of
confusion get dismiss.
These two skills need to develop by Wellington Hospital in their non direct care workers through
which effective and appropriate working could be done. This will enable them to manage each
and every task consideration as well as chances of confusion get minimise.

P3 Role of non direct care workers in operations of a team
A team is a group of several individual whom work together in order to accomplish a
specified goal or target (Carpenter and et. al., 2017). They all work in a integrated process
through which appropriate delivery of services get done. Appropriate coordination between team
facilitate suitable and effective gain through which ultimate response could be underpin.
Although, it is important to understand the role of non direct care workers while operating a team
so that all communication get proceed in a definite frame. Role with in a team of non direct care
workers are specified as follow: Managers: One of a role of manager is to look upon on each and every consideration
properly. In this aspect, if any deviation get evaluated in a team, it is a duty of manager to

estimated several consideration which are:
Follow all the hand hygiene process in an appropriate and suitable manner. This could be
done by the food providing support staff as well as cleaning staff whom need to maintain
proper cleaning at workplace
Use of appropriate and suitable equipments which get done with support of operational
department as well as manager of a company. They need to purchase only such product
whom are up to date by checking their expiry as well.
Along with this, for managing security at care home and supporting caring environment several
role which could be estimated stated as follow:
Security staff have to follow all process and procedure properly in which they need to
implement proper security check process. Like if any individual lead to visit to met with
any service user then appropriate process of exit and entry need to followed up with date,
time, entry and exit.
Provide alarm facility to care users so that while delivering appropriate and quality
services, whenever a call need to get frame suitable monitoring need to done.
P5 Importance of supervision and management in the development of non- direct care workers
Supervision and management is important for the development of non direct care workers
(Knott and Scragg, 2016). With suitable and appropriate supervision, all such individual become

aware about their duties and responsibilities as well as managing each and every consideration
effectively (Lloyd-Evans and et. al., 2014). Like, their development will contribute in earlier
recovery of many users through promoting effective health and safe environment.
Thus, a major value behind supervision and management are:
Working relationship get improved with direct care worker as well as non direct care
workers so that effective delivery of services become possible
Effective and appropriate supervision leads to contribute in retaining employees of a
company so that better and supportive gain become possible (Slade and et. al., 2014)
With effective supervision, service users will also get appropriate and suitable quality of
services through which appropriate and efficient gain become possible and define
suitable image of health care association as well
CONCLUSION
It get concluded from the project that support workers play an appropriate and effective
role while providing care services to targeted users. It is essential for them to understand the role
of non direct care workers properly so that better and efficient gain could be estimated. Along
with this, team working will also contribute better and appropriate gain encouraging suitable
social care environment so that all deliverables lead to take place in a suitable manner and frame.
