INTRODUCTION
Communication is an important activity in health and social care industry as it help
employer in connecting with he external users. This project is all about applying various theories
of communication and its impact on the aims and targets of the institution. This is also stresses
on applying effective monitoring systems to keep track on current communication process in
hospitals and social care home. Final part of the report emphasises on utilising various
technologies and use of various technical devices in accomplishing desired aims and targets of an
entity.

2.1 Explain how communication process is influenced by values and cultural factors
Cross-Cultural communication is takes place among sender and receiver of different
background and culture share their views and opinions in order to accomplish the common
interest of business is to satisfy various clients (Maiga and Nilsson, 2015). Humans at the
workplace created the word culture in which comfortable working environment is created by
human being which ca give shape to their overall views and opinions with the passage of time.
This cultural communication is followed from one generation to another generation from parents
to their child, teachers to their students, religious leaders to their followers.
The building of culture involves uses of common language, facial expressions, body
language, dress code, comfortable environment (Patino, Pitta and Quinones, 2012). The culture
can be positive as well as negative depends on the people created the environment. The success
of the business environment based on the skills and the capabilities of an individual with the
passage of time they spend in the environment with internal as well as external parties. The
cultural values of a particular lace affects the communication process to be completed within a
given time frame. It includes various factors such as natural environment which involves climatic
conditions. The climate of London is different from the climate of Cadillac which directly
affected on the health of an individual. Heavy temperature in summer is not fruitful for all those
people who lives in Switzerland who are currently living in the polar regions (Subramanian ed.,
2013). Climatic information about a city conveys important information that an individual will

visit the place or postpone their decisions due to health problem they may face by visiting the
place.
There are various components of culture in the cross-cultural communication process
which is essential in order to accomplish the desired aims and targets:
Belief-The mental status or verbal statements will affect the sentiments or hidden feelings of an
individual that showcases a particular knowledge regarding a person. The personal belief of all
the persons communicating with each other is important in order to convey important
information from one end to another in improving the overall reliability of the information. This
improves the knowledge of an individual which needs to be improved.
Values- In health and social care industry social values of an individual is matters when they
take any kind of decisions in favor of an entity should follow all the value and beliefs of the
society (Guffey and Loewy, 2012). Societal obligations needs to be completed in order to
achieve desired aims and the objectives within a prescribed tie period. Value statements of an
individual directs them towards the achievement of all their desired output in a given time frame
as they held liable for completing the communication process according to their own choice,
tastes and preferences. The behavior of an individual will be improved with the passage of time
by following all the values of an individual in the overall communication process.
2.2 Explain how legislation, charters and codes of practice impact on communication process
Health and social care is that sector which involves catering of health related services to
all the society members which needs to be satisfied in retaining them for long period (Guffey and
Loewy, 2012). Rules and the regulations prepared by the government is to regulate the
performance of an entity who will improves its current performance in order to give quality
oriented service to all its customers. Health of an individual are on sake as the wrong treatment
given by the doctors will spoil their life as doctors are worshiped as god by the patients who save
their life from severe diseases. There are various legislation requirements needs to be fulfilled by
an entity in increasing higher customer satisfaction towards all the services of an entity:
Legislation- It is kind of external monitoring and supervision applied by the officials of the
government to maintain he status of an entity in the external market especially in front of all the
stakeholders. Various legislation which needs to be fulfilled by an employer includes Data
protection act 1998, children act 2004.

Code of practice- It is that legal document which includes written rules and regulations given by
the professional associations (Fafinski, 2013). Hospitals operating all across the world need to
register their an entity with various professional associations such as Dental care associations
helps in giving legal existence to their existing business. These kinds of code of practices
improves all business practices of an entity which are offered to the variety of clients. Patients in
the external environment are regarded as the influential person affecting the current brand image
of an entity.
2.3 Analyse the effectiveness of organizational systems and policies in promoting good practice
in communication
Various organizational systems prepared by an individual in order to accomplish the
desired aims and the objectives of an entity (Cornelissen, 2014). In health and care industry,
employers devises various strategies and policies to attract wide number of patients to admit in
the institution in utilising the services offered by an entity. There are various ways used by an
individual in improving the effectiveness of the overall business system applied by an entity
owner:
Information security system
Under this particular system, all confidential information of an enterprise are secured in
an entity itself as patients are provided with limited information related to their disease and
nothing as there are higher chances of losing the important information of hospital from the side
of all the customers who can access all hidden secrets of the business. This problem can be
avoided by an entity by encrypting all the important data using cryptography technique in which
case files of all the patients are electronically saved at cloud system (Fafinski, 2013). Patients
can access their information by using unique user ID passwords allotted to them which will be
changed after 3 months in order to ensure the higher safety of the information.
In this particular systems private and public key will be given to all the users of the intact
information such as private key is given to the doctors and dean of the hospital but at the same
time public key is given to all the patients who are taking treatments from the hospitals. Doctors
will restrict the patient in accessing their information if they lock the information in the servers.

2.4 Suggest ways of improving the communication process in a health and social care setting
There are various ways that can be used by an individual at the workplace in order to
improve the current communication process in delivering important information of health and
social care industry are given as below:
Cause and effect relationship- All the events takes places in an entity will be linked with their
future causes in order to improve its overall performance with the passage of time (Clarke,
Ascroft and Crane, 2015). In this approach the quality of services will be improved by giving
training to all the staff who held responsible for catering variety of services to its different
patients. Higher staff turnover reasons will be identified to design strategies in order to reduces
the overall impact of higher staff turnover on the performance of an entity. In hospitals,
negligence of doctors will affect the life of an individual and also affects the current brand image
of an enterprise.
Allocation of tasks and duties- Communication process can be improved when specific duties
are allocated in which default done by one party will be directly checked by another party. This
ensures higher productivity of the business as an entity need to apply special investigation person
to identify the causes of the default as this method will directly determines the negligence f
doctors or other staff members in an entity (Adelola, Dawson and Batmaz, 2015). Allocation of
tasks will important for an entity as this will complete the dual objective of an entity such as
accomplishing desired aim and targets of an entity and checking the performance of other person
working on the same position in an enterprise.

CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above assignment that maintenance of all the equipment in
the hospitals is essential in order to maintain peaceful environment. This report stresses on the
negligence of doctors in the case of Anna who are suffering from stroke but rude behavior of
doctor left her untreated. In other section of report this talks about monitoring of business
activities in order to generate final outcome. Last section of the report emphasises on the use of
technical devices in facilitating employers as well as all the patients of the hospitals using Cat
scan, X-ray and MS Excel.
