AI Summary
This report, submitted for the Health and Society Task 2, delves into the student's personal understanding of health, contrasting it with the definition provided in the literature, specifically referencing the Australian Government's 'Australia’s health 2016'. The report begins by articulating the student's personal perspective on health, defining it as a measure of well-being and the absence of disease, encompassing physical, mental, emotional, and psychological dimensions. It then compares this personal understanding with the literature, which emphasizes the multidimensional nature of health, including genetic, lifestyle, environmental, and socioeconomic factors. The report further explores the relationship between health at the individual, community, and population levels, highlighting the impact of various determinants and the importance of preventive care. The report emphasizes that health is not merely the absence of disease, but a state of complete well-being, influenced by a complex interplay of factors. The student's understanding aligns with the broader view of health, although the student's perception differs on the significance of disorders not considered as diseases.

TASK 2
Personal Health Understanding
According to personal understanding, health is something which is not too complex to
understand and but no so easy to handle. Health is the condition and a parameter to measure
the well being or the illness in an individual. Health is just a parameter which his used to
analyses and evaluate whether a person is healthy or is infected with the same disease =,
illness or disorder. It can be defined in personal opinion as bad or good. Good health means a
well-maintained body and the functioning of the body while bad health means there is
something distorted or abnormal in the body and its functioning. Health can in many forms
such as physical , mental emotional and psychological. The state of ease and happiness comes
under good mental health, while uneasiness and stress come under poor mental health. The
health understanding varies from person to person depending on the family background,
culture and religion. Being unhealthy can also be seen in a positive way which means that the
person was initially healthy and was affected by the alien particles which acted as the irritants
and cause the uneasiness and resulted in catching an illness.
Personal health understanding compared to provided literature
According to the literature provided it can be deduced that it talks about the presence
or absence of disease and medical risk factors. It also includes the social well-being factor in
the definition of health. Several determinate decide the disease, illness or lower life
expectancy in a person. It includes biomedical reasons, genetic factors, psychological,
environmental and socioeconomic factors. (Australian Government, 2016) There is cross-link
and an interactive network between all these factors which decide the health of the person
and also of the society. Several measures of health that ascertain the health of an individual or
population includes life expectancy, mortality, life with disabilities and the personal self-
recognized and admitted health condition. These all factors measure the life and death rate as
well as the physical and self-accessed well-being of the population and society (Australian
Government, 2016).
It is no more different from what is perceived at a personal level. The learnings are
same as a broader level. The difference lies at the perception at the self-assessment and self-
belief. But it is a bit different in the aspect of presence or absence of disease. In my opinion,
the disorders which are not considered as a disease or the uneasiness caused due to minor
factors are also considered a hindrance in good health.

TASK 3
Views of health explained with relationship to individual, community, and population
The relationship of health with the community and population as well as at the
individual level is determined by various factors. The health is just not limited to a person or
their family. But it is a broad term comprising the society, community and the population in
the country as well. The health of the population is measured during the case of an epidemic
that affects the country or the state by large. Hence, broader preventive care and practices are
intervened to improve the life quality in the community. Several things affect a person’s
health ranging from macroscopic to the microscopic things also from, also social irritants
such as drug and alcohol abuse to individual factors such as genetic and hereditary factors.
Apart from this, the most crucial factor is the quality of the health practice a person seeks as
well as the time and earliness of the screening of any disease and medication practice
(Australian Government, 2016).
