Objective – to increase knowledge, application and synthesis of knowledge of the subject
(domain – cognitive)
At first, the subject will be given a lecture ‘Iron deficiency anaemia is a complex metabolic
disorder that not only affect the health of the individual but also affects the very quality of
life to a great extent. The symptoms are general fatigue, dizziness, pale skin, general
weakness and shortness of breath. In pregnancy, the additional risk that you should consider
is your baby having a low birth weight that can be accompanied by a postpartum depression
as well. It is very critical that in iron deficiency anaemia during pregnancy, not only the
health of the mother but the health of the baby is at risk as well. Lack of iron in the food in
addition to imbalanced diet can lead to the causation of the disease. Also not applying the
right knowledge and awareness in the prevention of the progressive symptoms can cause the
disease to become more severe. The causation of fatigue due to iron deficiency anaemia can
lead to less proactive action taking and hence it has to be addressed. The health educators
who are involved in educating and raising your awareness for prevention and management of
iron deficiency anaemia and kindly consider that the educators and the health care staffs who
will servicing you and helping you the entire process of self-management skills learning are
very much educated and are trained prior as well so as to the implement the lesson plan
process to you, in a very professional and vital manner as well.’
Then the Self-study and Printed handouts will be distributed as it helps ‘the subject is assisted
to relate the imagination elicited in the previous lecture to the visual images shown in the
printout’. Self-study is ‘to allow the subject learn at her own pace’
Finally the video will be shown with the subtitles ‘Considering the iron rich foods such as
lentils, nuts and beans plus seeds in addition to grains such as brown rice, dried fruits,
fortified types of breakfast cereals are really essential for you. Walking and low intensity
aerobics is good for your health as well. Create your nutritional diet plan using the Canada
