INTRODUCTION
Health and safety which is priority of every person living in this world not only
individuals but also society for creating safe environment which is free from diseases
(Carayon,2016). Even business organisation apply various techniques which help in protecting
their employees from various diseases and dangerous. In the below mention assignment
organisation taken is NHS foundation which is large company spread over the boundaries of
nation as well as also control two popular hospital name as Staffordshire and Cannock Chase
hospital with about 350 beds for patients. The same was founded in 1983 named as mid
Staffordshire general hospital NHS trust this was established in 1993. the project is divided into
various segments which through some light on policies, plans, impressive scheme and systems
enforced by chosen administration for safety of worker at geographic point in which they are
working from any health danger. instead of this, it also highlights watching and reviewing
procedure of several safety measures for preventing whole society from emergent injury and
diseases.

1.1 Systems, policies and procedures to communicate information on health and safety.
In health and safety risk are uncertain and can come anytime for this there is requirement
of some safety measures that company have to take so their will be no hazards which directly
gives impact on health of individual. In the situation of accident it is liability of person who is
standing that they have to take them to hospital. But everyone have to take care that while
driving must have to wear helmets, seat belts and other safeguards also which is required.
In organisation manager and leader must of to design training and development program
for their personnels related to health and safety. Thus, proper information related to same will be
provided to staff members and in return expectation is that they will follow it. So their will be
less chances of uncertain hazards.
Several numbers of policies and laws are implemented by legal bodies who is encourage
health and safety at Staffordshire NHS trust for securing personnel from diseases and health risk
some of them are given below:- Health and Safety at work Act 1974: this act is given by government bodies of UK
which say that employees should get safe and healthy environment at their workplace.

2017).
Health and safety regulations 1981: as per this law it is necessary to give essential
facilities and equipments to personnel for sudden requirement. If there is any emergency
may arises then they have something which help them in saving life of their own.
From the above mention acts and laws it is concluded that health and safety is necessary
for every individual person. In the organisation which employees are working they should have

things (Gordon and Findley,2011). So as per the responsible employee of an organisation they
must have to take care off all these thing 24*7. this is the social duty of individual towards its
organisation they must have to feel responsible toward these so they can create secure and safe
environment. Their are several duties of an employees for creating safe and healthy are given
below:-

Awareness events- as an employee of organisation it my duty to organise several events
related to health and safety so that these help in encourage other staff also which help
them in doing same as they are doing. When events are organised other people take part
in these things and get aware from activities going in these.
Encouraging patients- In emergency some patients are come for first-aid or other urgent
require service. When I am providing such services to patient at the same time or after
that its my responsibility to encourage them about safety and health. Thus, patient
themselves can take care of own and get environment safe as well as secure (Hart, 2010).
organising several activities for encouragement- me as a employee of health care
centre have to organise such activities within the boundaries of that centre so patient
admit at that time or their relatives get awareness about health and safety. Feel the
importance of these same this help them in taking care of own as well as family also.

important for them. Because every one require safe and secure surrounding in which they are
leaving. There are various health and safety priorities for which respite care home have to

might be punished or investigate by government agencies (Jeffreys, 2015). If they found
guilty for any offence which might be happened within their organisation then employers
or top management authority will be imprisoned or fined of heavy amount of money or
they might be disqualified from their positions, it all depends from case to case.
Consequences of non-compliance for employees: If any employees of an healthcare
organisation fails in following rules and regulations or training and instructions provided
by higher management authority with regards to health and safety or they break
government laws by mistake or full intension. Then this could return-

members, visitors, patients, housekeeping workers, agency workers on safety and hygiene within
organisation. In addition to this, management authority also neglect about safety precautions
which is required for all patients or visitors or employees or housekeeping workers or care
workers. During an inspection by external authority, there are some illegal and unethical
activities are found within home care i.e. toilet papers, food items and cleaning items are put
under a single storeroom which is totally untidy which are accessed by staff member's regularly.
In addition to this, electrical cabling is trailing or draw in a open situation throughout home care
which is an hazardous for each and every one who works or reside within organisation.
Health and safety policies and practices are monitored by government authorities and

situation in a fruitful manner. Hence, taking care of Mr. Sam in a effective and efficient way as
per his requirements as well as safety and hygiene factors required so many methodologies
which are discussed below:
Usage of Technology: By utilising new innovative technology equipments, strategies are
formulate and implement in a fruitful manner which helps care taker of Mr. Sam in
handling above situation in a healthy way. Using tech gadgets by Mr. Sam may avoid
him from unused work like selection of newspaper.
Time Management: Provide a well trained care taker according to the disease as Mania
to a patient called Mr. Sam. Because a trained psychiatric nurse will know the mental
situation of patient and she will be easily able to manage time management as per
required. And she knows about the importance of maintaining safety and hygiene
