TASK A Reflection
Health care professional are practitioners who provide curative, rehabilitative
health care services to people in a systematic way. I met an optometrist to consult about
my eyes, because I feel that my eyesight is getting weak. While I was sitting in the
clinic, I saw that the clinic is very hygienic and comfortable as well. My reaction was that
I came to the right place where I will get better solution of my problem. Earlier, I was
feeling nervous while having a discussion with Optometrist. But, when conversation of
mine came to an end with the doctor, I was filled with positivity because the Optometrist
made me believe that my eye sight will get 6/6 again. Practitioner have told me that I
have to wear spectacles around three months and eat green vegetables . He have told
me to use eye drops and eyeglasses for three months which I am going to do so that
my eyesight may get fine again. Continuation of this will help reaching to my objective
i.e. clear eye vision.
TASK B Short Answer
Person Centred Care described as patients centred care, client centred care and
so on. All of these are very specific. It define those people who are assessing from the
health system. Along with this it means affording people dignity, respect and
compassion. Whatever people interact with health practitioner they should treated with
respect and dignity (Brooker and Latham, (2015). Mainly PCC is relate with basic
human rights. It consider listening to patients in the care. Providing care that is
responsive to respectful of patient needs and values.
According to Gottlieb, L. M. and et. al., (2015), PCC refer to person dignity,
respect and compassion which is important for every person to receiving care which is
based on their treatment and care as well. It is important for every patients and
practitioner needs to interact with dignity, respect so that they easily communicate with
each others. Yes Person Centred Care (PCC) is there among patient and Optometrist
as both are interact with respectfully with each other. As doctor effectively provide better
service to patients and also give them chart to test eyes on regular basis. It is good for
patients as they get better treatment and tries to make their eyesights good as
compared to before. Along with this, the overall discussion is done well because

practitioner provide them better instruction to their patient. By this, patient feel
comfortable and also ask back questions to get answer. In addition of this, if doctor
provide instruction in detailed manner then patient can easily understand their
information. With the help of this, patient can easily interact with doctor and ask them for
any kind of queries. The main reason behind this is that doctor is polite and humble with
their patient. By this, person who are taking practitioner guidance; will get better
suggestion towards their problem. PCC is helpful in protecting human rights as patients
feel more comfortable at the time of discussing with Optometrist.
TASK C Short Answer
The determinants of health includes various aspects like social and economic
environment, physical environment, person behaviours, Income and income distribution,
education, unemployment and job security, employment and working condition, early
childhood development, food insecurity, housing, social exclusion and inclusion (World
Health Organization. 2015).

Income level is important for every person to take better treatment. In this, if
person income level is high then they will willing pay high amount to specialist and
practitioner as well. As the patients went to Optometrist who is educated to take the
treatment of their eyes. If the income level of the person is high then they take better
treatment from the doctor. With the help of higher income, patients can easily get better
treatment from the Optometrist because the well educated doctors have more
experience and knowledge to provide treatment to their patients. Thus, the person who
are going to Optometrist that charge less fee as compare to another doctor. Due to
sufficient income patient is not able to pay more amount for their eye treatment so that
they are going to Optometrist who charge less fee form the patients. Along with the
income of the person directly impact on patient health outcome because if they having
high income then they get best treatment from the doctor and make their eyesight
perfect.
