I also need to assist the clinical duties with other staff members wherever and
whenever required by them.
I also need to give personal care and promote positive mental and physical treatment
of patients.
My performance objective is to maintain the environment of the hospital in such a
way that the patients are assisted in a good and required manner (Maxwell, 2013). They
should not feel that they are not been treated in the care home or hospital it is my duty and
responsibility to maintain the quality of service in the health and social care sector in which I
work.
Q2 Evaluating own effectiveness against defined performance objectives.
My performance objective is to provide the best quality of service to the customer or
the patients of the health and social care as they need the service. All the patients who are
admitted in the hospital should be treated equally and must be given equal importance and the
service. The medicines which are available must be up to date and not expired one also it is
my duty to have a look at the required and available stock of medicines. The food which are
to be given to the patients must be also of good quality and hygienic and as according to the
prescription given to patients (Jones, 2016). These all are the performance objective which I
must be having and they also must be very effective so that I can increase my productivity
and work according to the set rules and guidelines.
For the health and social care the patients and their health and care are most important
as only patients can make the sector profitable in terms of revenue generation. It is the duty of
hospital staff to assist the patients and take a good care of the patients by providing them
timely assistance, proper treatment, personal care and hygienic food as well (Hall et.al.,
2014). All these things will help in the increase in my performance and thus in development
of the whole health and social care sector
Q3 Using own weakness identified make recommendation for improvement.
Beside the strengths and performance objective I also have some weakness which
need to be improved so that the productivity is increased. The weakness which are there
should be identified and then improved so that there are no further alligation of patients
regarding the quality of service provided.
Management of staff- as I'm the healthcare assistance in the NHS hospital so it is my duty to
manage the staff under me and allot them the work according to their specialised area. But

I'm insufficient in this work of management of the staff at the heath and social care sector
(Guglielmi, Chiesa and Mazzetti, 2016). To manage the staff is more important at the time of
some medical emergency
Communication- as I'm the communication link between the patients and the other staff of
hospital so I need to look at this link and inform other staff about the improvement in the
health of the patients. My communication skill is also very poor which I need to improve so
that there is no gap between patient, relative and management.
Assisting the clinical staff- this is also my part of responsibility to assist the clinical staff of
health and social care sector in their day to day work whenever necessary (Galegher, J., Kraut
and Egido, 2014). But I'm not that much sufficient in myself to help the staff and lessen down
their burden of work.
Recommendations:
I need to identify the above weakness and need to improve these so that I can help the health
and social care sector in better way.
I need to develop my leadership quality and communication skills so that can improve the
sector and their quality of service.
Q4 Reviewing how would we use motivational techniques to improve quality of performance
Motivation is the desire that derives the individual to do a particular task and to
achieve the self and goal of the organization in which they are working in. The employees
working in the organization need to be motivated and also it is required to increase the
motivation in them so that they can perform in a better way (Evans and Wilson, 2016). Every
employee are having their own way and techniques to get motivated some are motivated by
the external factors and some internally motivated. To improve my quality of work and
productivity it is required to analyse the motivational techniques which I must be using.
Setting goals- this is the most commonly used techniques to increase the motivation in an
individual and this is the technique which I also can use to improve the quality of
performance. Setting of the personal goal include how I want to increase my productivity and
then getting self motivated by alignment of the professional and personal goal.
Recognising achievements- if I'm appreciated for the amount of good work done by me then
will surely get motivated thus improving the quality or performance (Dickerson Jarvis, and
Stockwell, 2016). Whatever I'm doing in making the work better need to be recognised by my
higher and senior authority so that I could get the reward.

Creating positive environment- this is also a type of motivational techniques which can be
used to improve the quality of performance. Creating a healthy and positive environment at
the work place will help me in motivating myself so that in can improve the quality of work
and profitability will also improve.
Providing professional enrichment- if the company help me in increasing my knowledge
base by organising workshops and seminars to upward my career path and giving me
opportunities to develop and grow will also help me in lot more ways to improve the quality
of performance.
TASK 2
Q5 Identify effective time management strategies that I used to work to aid my performance.
To mange the time during the working hours so that all the tasks are done and we also
have time left to help others at work with their engaged schedule (Crawford and Lepine,
2013). To get ahead in career and achieve the goal doing all things on time is the most
essential part. The better I'm maintaining focus and managing my time the more I will
achieve and thus this will be easier for me to leave the office on time every day. There are
some effective time management strategies which I must use to work to aid my performance
like:
Dynamic task list- all the activities and task which I have to do in whole day must be listed
in the task list and clearly updated on regular basis. This task list must also be reviewed
frequently so that the task which are completed can be removed from the list and new one can
be added.
Focusing on high value activities- in the task list which is prepared in the starting of the day
the most urgent works or the high value activities must be listed on top and performed or
priority bases (Chopra and Rodriques, 2016). The focus in the starting must be on these high
valued activities so that they are done firstly this will certainly help in the management of
time and thus increasing the performance
Minimizing interruptions- if there are many interruptions during the whole day or in the set
schedule than it becomes difficult to manage the work and the time. All the time wasting
activities must be avoided like answering phone calls, checking emails in the middle of
something more important they can break the flow of work.
