This report provides summaries of three articles related to healthcare and childcare. The first article discusses medication administration in childcare programs, emphasizing the importance of proper procedures and common medications like acetaminophen and antihistamines, along with tips for different age groups. Article 1
The article describes that the mild-illness among the child need medication, therefore
for this there is no reason for excluding the child from the program (Calder, 1950). The staffs
members which all work with the children should adopt various practices which includes the
child whose name is listed will receive similar medications, the administration of the
medication is done through prescribing techniques and dose. The care service provider should
adopt the practice of recording al l the plans for informing the parents about the medications
provided to the children in daily basis. The article describe that there are some most frequent
medications which is given to the child in child care programs such as “Acetaminophen” this
is provide to treat the pain and fever of the child. Antihistamines are also provided to prevent
attacks of asthma and several other medications are provided which supports in reducing the
pain in chest and prevent cough etc (Calder, 1950).
The oral medications are also provided to the chid that is providing eye drops,
inhaled medications. There are some tips which needs to be followed while providing
medication to the children of different age such as for infants the child care providers should
collect and evaluate the adequate amount of medication (Calder, 1950). There are different
tips for toddlers. Further, article also revealed that there are some special situations while
administrating medication to child which includes parents sometimes does not reveal
complete problem children have, continuous providence of fever medication to the children
etc (Calder, 1950).

The article revealed that about 400,000 children in US are presently in the foster care,
therefore it is estimate that about 80% of the children are suffering from the chronic medical
conditions in the foster care (Foster Family-Based Treatment Association, 2013). Therefore,
the children who all are “medically fragile” and also suffered from chronic diseases for them
various daily living activities were developed which includes maintaining hygiene, self-
feeding, managing the bladder etc. The article revealed that it become difficult to set the child
for remain in the hospital, so for this various precaution is taken that is various training is
provided by nurses to the parents for providing child care at home. It becomes important for
the staff to gather all the information to prevent child so that quality treatments is provided to
the children (Foster Family-Based Treatment Association, 2013).
The social workers also provide foster care services in public and follow some roles
and responsibilities that is proving services of clinical case management to the youngsters
and foster family (Foster Family-Based Treatment Association, 2013). The article describes
that recruitment is done for inviting the people which all the interest in providing care to the
children and nurses as well as doctors play an important role in educating the parents
regarding foster care provided to the children. The education is also provided to the foster
parents regarding the trauma and it can support foster parents to find the materials which all
the highly affordable and provide financial resources so that better treatment is provided to
the children (Foster Family-Based Treatment Association, 2013).

The article revealed that behaviour assessment is considered important for testing the
learning difference, this supports in identifying the patterns and reasons of behaviour (Patino,
2014). The teachers as well as parents are also support in assessing the behaviour of their
kids. There are some behavioural assessment which includes “Vineland adaptive behaviour
scale” it is help in measuring the daily living skills of the child with the comparison of the
kids which all are having similar age. This results in providing the outcomes regarding the
capability of the child to perform activities daily. The other measures include “Conners
parent and teacher rating scales” this measures the presence as well as severity of the
behaviour and provides the results regarding the testing which is further needed (Patino,
2014).
The “Vanderbilt Assessment scale” supporting in measuring the “Attention-deficit
hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)” symptoms and understand the behaviour which affects the
children. This results in providing information regarding the issues and hyperactivity
questions (Patino, 2014). There are some other assessments which are “behaviour assessment
system for children” this helps in providing clear picture regarding the different questions of
the child behaviour. In this far-reaching test is applied for evaluating the results and leads in
identification of the special areas. The other behavioural assessment is “Achenbach child
behaviour checklist”, “Barkley home and school situations questionnaires”. It is because this
supports in identifying the behaviour of the child in home or in the school. This helps in
providing different symptoms in diverse areas in which child face difficulties (Patino, 2014).
