Confidentiality nursing is about the nurse keeping a confidentiality of all the patient
information, both personal and clinical information in the work place. Nurse can only ask
questions that is related to their understanding so it can help their patient and patients
have a right to privacy and can keep a limit of intrusion by the nurse into their lives.
Privacy involves protecting patient integrity.(Nieswiadomy, and Bailey 2018) Maintaining a
confidentiality for a nurse is not easy, every organization use many techniques and tools
to keep their confidentiality safe and protected, so of the following are keeping records
locked, allowing access only to the people who requires certain information of the patient,
maintaining a record a book to write patient informations and details with latest update in
the work place. Privacy and confidentiality is important because they should only access
the information they required or need.(White, Dudley-Brown, and Terhaar 2019) Like
keeping information and personal records physically and electronically secure and
confidential, For examples never discuss cases in public places ,using information of the
patient or client when its necessary. Confidentiality means respecting the privacy of
someone. It is about that professionals shouldn't share personal details of their clients.
Until the clients say they can or it is for emergency necessary. The information is about
the confidentiality nursing in the hospitals field work understanding the process and
programs of the different organization keeping a personal details safe in the work area.
Confidentiality helps to build a trust between the employer and employee and business
organization have an obligation to keep staff information secure and trusted.
MAIN BODY
Nurses faces certain challenge in respecting the confidentiality of patients. In
today's world information is shared quickly. Today's world is depend on the technology, the
advanced technology has helped in many ways including computerized medical
databases, healthcare, social media and other internet-based technologies. In the
confidential health information, These process is about the role of a nurse for protecting
the privacy and confidentiality and provide recommendations to avoid a risk. It is essential
to maintaining trustful relationship between the health care professionals and patients.
Providing high quality of care to the patients that is expected from a registered nurse and
respecting patient privacy and confidentiality(Portney2020) The patients have the rights to

to maintain in the treatment settings and in all the work places. Patients should receive
written, clear notifications of their health records, they should develop a relationship of
trust with patients.(Kaakinen, and et. al. 2018.) The organization should give honest,
integrity, truthful, balanced information and advice to patients. It should be better if the
information and advice are evidence-based or best available practice standards. The
organization should respect the patients trust for keeping their personal information
private. There should be professional judgement and act responsibly when they are
planning to disclose or sharing the information of their patients, the confidential
information might can be share if it is required by the law or by legal authority. To protect
the interests of society or to protect the interests of other people and protecting patients
interest. In this situations only minimum amount of information will be necessary to the
appropriate person. It is very important for keeping information with in the certain
boundaries. Large number of people are admitted in the hospital needs to access their
medical records to provide them best possible health care. Even technology
developments make it easier to intervene in individuals' private life, the demands for the
protection of privacy increases and differentiates. This demands affects the provision of
health care services and brings out different practices. The role in safeguarding
confidentiality extends to all forms of record management include appropriate use of
information technology and social media. In every hospitals it is compulsory for keeping
patient's information private, A patient's right to privacy involves the confidentiality of
information related to the patients and bodily privacy of the patients.(Stanhope, and
Lancaster 2019). Managing a confidentiality and privacy are essential for establishing and
maintaining an effective and respectful clinical relationship. It is not at all allowed to
discuss the health related problems between patients and clinical. Physicians are
required for keeping privacy confidentiality information for patients needs or they obtain in
their professional interaction with patients. Many countries have adapted for patient's
rights to the legislation related to the health care. Today medicine is practiced by health
care teams not only performed by the physicians, residents, and nursing staff, nursing
assistants but also orderlies, administrative personnel, and even medical students.
Patients should be aware of their undergoing treatments and all which is acquired in their
diagnosis, providing the appropriate treatment, as well as receiving the necessary
training., and et. (Mason, and et. al. 2020.)It is for this reason that hospital personnel are
required to protect patient confidentiality. Breaches of confidentiality in clinical practices
happen because of the careless, indiscretion, or sometimes even maliciously between the
doctor and patients relationship. Even careless behaviour of the staff such as speaking

about the patients in public spaces like elevators and cafeterias, during conversations on
phones, or even when accessing electronic data, can results in breaches of patients
confidentiality information. There are certain types of implementation which are necessary
measures to prevent such incidents.(Grove and Gray, 2018).The health information
privacy laws only apply rights to living people. They do not apply once the person is
deceased. The is to responsibility is defended by the principle of beneficence which
asserts that nurse should act in ways that prevent harm, remove harm, and promote good
to others, the principle of confidentiality is founded in the patient's rights to privacy and the
preservation of the nurse patient relationship. There are several ways to keep the patients
report private and safe, discussions about the patient care in private to reduce those who
do not need to know will overhear. Maintaining a electronic records secure through
passwords ant other security applications or technology. Monitoring who gains access to
records to ensure that they are being used appropriately, providing regular training,
creating complete policies, confidentiality agreements, ensuring that all the information
should be stored in secure systems and avoiding usage of mobile phones.(Weberg and
Davidson 2019). Learning about how to discard confidential information appropriately in
accordance with in the work place privacy policy. Health care workers or doctors are
bound by confidentiality regarding a patient's information, but when person is approached
who is not direct family, but only person directly available to obtain the relevant information
and relay to the patients family, and its really hard for doctor to decide that informations of
its patients should be secure and safe, doctors have to assure that patients should be
treated in proper and they should be called by their names and discussing their treatments
within the family members. Patients private details can be discussed in a private or closed
room otherwise the other patients can hear the personal details of the patients. (Straus,
Glasziou and Haynes 2018.) When the patients required more attention and care numbers
of health work also increasing that means third parties involvement can share the
information which becomes common knowledge in the hospitals. In training hospitals its
the duty of the senior staffs to explain the younger medical students to explain the details
of the relevant and necessary diagnostic procedures and medical terms in a such manner
it could provide some despair to a patient who feels that they are exposed and their
information not kept as private as they would want. It is the duty of the hospital to keep
their patient details with in their boundaries.
