The resistance to change, inefficiencies in healthcare access, and multifaceted medical
issues within the system have prevented in offering appropriate care to people. The
complexity of the extensive and incompetent healthcare system in the United States continues
to be a challenge. As per the Fact Sheet 2016, the U.S. does not have a uniform health
system, although it spent a large portion of expenditure on its healthcare sector
(Dpeaflcio.org, 2016). The issue identified in the system includes accessibility issues, high
cost, less coordination among various healthcare professionals, and quality of care that
hinders the ability of the system to deliver better care. This suffices the need for the
development of a unique and innovative healthcare delivery model that will address all the
issues at once. According to Clarke et al., (2017), the Mobile Integrated Healthcare is a new
and evolving care model that focuses on bridging the gaps in the transition of care, which
interrupt the communication and delivery of care services to the patient population. It was
primarily developed for addressing the health issues of the rural community; however, later,
it was extended on a global scale.
The advantages of the innovative model concerning patient outcomes are a new model
of mobile integrated healthcare evolves as one of the most promising frameworks for
comprehensive and complex care delivery using collaborative team efforts using resources
and professionals for availing different types of programs for a wide range of patients
(Castillo et al., 2016). The innovative process of the model supports the team by using the
core competencies of staff to offer community health facilities and services in an appropriate
manner. The model offers timely, physician-led interdisciplinary team effort and a
technologically advanced care process for the management of critically ill patients in
hospitals, homes, or workplaces.
