Summary
Health care is a vital concern in the daily living. The inability to take pro-active measures
leads to serious health conditions and complications risking to loss of lives. In the U.S, there
have been multiple challenges facing the Healthcare Delivery System in the 21st century to an
extent referred to as a failed and broken system. The healthcare providers and healthcare
facilities rank the first to provide quality healthcare to living their call.
Value Chain Analysis
Inbound
Analysis
As a measure by the US government under President Bush in 2006
supported by the Congress, books, journal, and articles were published to
push for the adequate healthcare delivery (Filatova & Schultz, 2016, p.29).
There has also been a set of approaches to responding to challenges. Such
includes financing and payment reforms, provides for the role of
Information technology seeking new services, channel and distributing
functions. Despite the enormous resources invested in the US healthcare
care, the American people have not realized the values of the funds
allocated. Polices and health agenda set has not adequately addressed the
healthcare delivery in the US.
Operations U.S Healthcare system challenges need immediate intervention. Failing to
reinstate the personal wellbeing contributes to the failure of the nation as a
whole. The two significant factors that limit the US healthcare delivery
system are the provision and the finances. The absence of the two aspect

forms the considerable setback in restrict effective healthcare requirements.
The healthcare providers and the health consumers (payers) failure to
collaborate have been among the factors that have contributed to the failure
of effective healthcare delivery.
Outbound
Logistics
The supportive healthcare stakeholders, like health insurers, have limited
support in health care matters elevating the healthcare challenges. This is by
limiting the insurance cover to "singer-payer" in covering their medical
costs. Managing care organizations that delivered the adequate health care
have as well limited it's the health expenditures on their employees delaying
the progress of healthcare delivery. Since the establishment of the first
American healthcare facility at Philadelphia in 1751, the challenges have
not yet to-date been resolved.
Marketing and
Sales
Increased demand in healthcare needs and the rising cost, changing diseases
and increased prevalence, labour shortage of health care providers,
increased complexity accompanied with higher expenditure required to
maintain the sick to full recovery has called for the overall impact to the
challenges realized in the health care delivery system. Medical errors arising
from healthcare providers mostly in surgery patients resulted in increased
death as compared to those who died from motor vehicle accidents (Daniel
& Makary, 2016, p.476636183).
To correct the possible errors, approaches for the intervention have been set

to identify the cause. The overall increase in the healthcare cost and human
errors was due to overuse of the resources by some rogue healthcare
providers. Underuse leading to ineffective remedies has as well contributed
to the poor service delivery. The saved funds are used for private benefits
limiting the recommended services to the patients seeking health services.
Misuse of resources as well contributed to poor service distribution to the
needy patients.
Services The government has set approaches to responding to the problems. First is
by reforming the financing and payments modules that aimed to change
both the patient and physician behaviours. Secondly is by utilizing
Information Technology to monitor health care delivery systems and storage
of health records (Adler-Milstein et al., 2015 p.2178). Seeking new service
healthcare channels and distributing roles is another approach that proved
useful. Reducing complexity in the procedure used in health care delivery
and proper disease management. Policies reforms and health agendas set
under President Bush played a significant role in improving healthcare
delivery in the U.S. The affordable healthcare act under the Obama has also
contributed to the increase to health to most of the American population
(Obama, 2016.p.528).

The ill-health nation is a failing nation. US government and other concerned stakeholders
should push for the proper health delivery to the American people. The set policies and agendas
have brought some changes; there is a need for further interventions.
