Case Study A- Carol
Carol is a seventy-four-year-old woman and her husband has recently died. She is feeling
alone because all her life she has spent with her husband. There are certain ways by which
she can remove her loneliness such as:
1. Sociability
Sociability plays a very essential role in reducing the loneliness of people. It helps people in
preventing psychological distress. It also improves the wellbeing of people. Persons who are
involved in a positive environment are at lower chances of getting stressed or lonely. Older
people should involve themselves in community activities that they can also meet new people
and they will get distracted from their suffering and pain. They should involve themselves in
those activities which are their hobbies (Kluwer, 2009).
2. Health Concerns
According to health concerns also old people should go for a walk so that they can remain
healthy. Their loneliness can also be removed by this approach. They can also involve
themselves in gardening it can be helpful for them in distracting themselves. Old people
involve themselves in the community health group. It will also help enhance their self-esteem
and confidence (DUCHARME , 2019).
Case Study B- Sarah
Sarah is a forty-year-old woman and she is under the care of Pathway Community as she was
suffering from some problem of mental health. Sarah is also struggling with having a healthy
diet as she does not know cooking.

Technology is one of the biggest advancement that can help Sarah in getting becoming
independent. Technology helps reduce loneliness as it helps in socializing. People can make
new friends and connect through them with the help of social media apps. It also helps people
in learning different types of things. Sarah can also access to cooking shows with the help of
technology.
2. Self-Involvement
Sarah should involve herself in activities that she is fond of i.e. she should involve herself in
her hobbies. Sarah can also involve herself in community programs, gardening, and exercise.
Exercise will also help in reducing her sadness as it will provide her with positive energy.
She will also develop contact with other people. She can also involve herself in
extracurricular activities such as dance, music, or painting. This will help her a lot in
distracting herself (Provider News Center, 2020).
Case Study C- Dillon
Dillon is a twenty-seven-year-old Autistic man. Dillon is a skilled programmer and he has
created many simple games on his own. Some steps can be taken which can improve the
condition of Dillon. Steps are as follows:
1. Skilled Training
Dillon should be provided with proper training so that he can improve his skills and he can be
a skilled programmer in the future. Since he is suffering from a disorder he is unable to
communicate and behave properly but there are some ways by which people with the disorder
can also be independent.

To-do list should be created for Dillon but the list should be in left to the right system and the
written list system can also be enabled. Their progress should be evaluated and judged.
3. Care
Dillon is a caring and loving person so he should also be treated with the same love and care
so that he can feel a sense of belongingness. This can also have a positive impact on his
health. The blanket which he feels comfortable with should be kept with him only that he can
feel comfortable and he will not feel any anxiety because of this (Davies, 2020).
