Introduction
Supporting independent living can be defined as ability to look at options and settle on

her new room will be her own space. Sally will have the opportunity to orchestrate and

of Sally, was dealing with the trauma which not only affected her day to day life but also
impacted on her relationship with children and professional life as well. Therefore, family
or friends can support Sally in both emotional and tangible way like offering care
package home, financial support and so on.
Therefore, these are said to be some of the roles that are played by family and friends while
supporting independent living and can help Sally in improving health conditions through
motivating her so that she could effectively pull-out favourable outcomes for the problems faced
by her.

In terms of independent living the disabilities in the organs can become the biggest barrier
that many disabled people experience and for those people disability barriers can have frequent
and youth impact on their life. In relation with this few barriers are mentioned below:
 In terms of this attitudinal barrier is the primary barrier as many people are not aware
regarding the difficulties that can become a limit for the person in order to participate in
the daily routine and common activities. But in modern time people does not consider
disability as a personal defect as the start thinking it as a social responsibility in order to
support independent life and always try to make it easier for the disabled people (Soja
and et. al., 2019).
 Communication barrier can be experienced by the people who have problem and affected
by speaking reading writing hearing and understanding things and for these people they
are different ways to communicate. For example to promote the written messages disable
people use small print versions of material in order to understand the writing. Along with
this to promote the auditory health messages with hearing impairment include videos that
does not consider caption and oral communication.
 Transportation barrier leads to a occur problem in the transportation and travelling of
disabled people and stop them from living independent life (Mastrogiuseppe and et. al.,
2019). For example lack of exercise towards the convenient transportation that are not
able to drive because of vision impairment and public transportation that are not available
or available at some distance.
P4 Explain the measures that support the safeguarding and protection of individuals who live
independently
There are a range of measures that are present while supporting the safeguarding and
protection of individuals who specifically lives independently and these are presented

Sally, a safe environment to live would directly help her in living her life at fullest. It is

much needed for Care providers whether to provide an environment at their Care home,
where she directly feel safe and secured enough or offer her with same type of facilities

by care givers because engaging her with the same will not only help her getting cured in

needed by Care givers to remove all the equipment with whom Sally can herself. It is also

In order to support the independent life the Healthcare assistant plays an important role
because they have suitable duties and responsibilities which they need to serve towards patients.
Relation with this the common roles and responsibilities of Health Care assistant include making
beds sterilizing equipment helping people to move around talking patients and make them
comfortable serving and feeding meal to Sally and monitoring condition by considering the
temperature respiration rate and pulse. In terms of supporting the independent life the guidance
of Health Care assistant is important as they help them in order to understand their surroundings
and what’s going nearby them. For the disabled people Healthcare assistant work as their support
system who provide suitable guidance and instructions to perform their daily activities and make

them more self dependent in order to perform their daily life activities (Hendey and Pascall,
2020).
In relation with this, the heterogeneity is the category that supports the health workers and
makes things identifiable for the disabled people. It includes the support regarding enabling
independence and the general rule of their not being professionally qualified and many more for
the health and social care sector. Along with this some Healthcare assistant enjoy their work as
in terms of developing friendly relations with patients as It helped them in recovering faster and
the also provide the warmth and compassion regarding the care and support for the vulnerable
and needy patients. Along with this they also treat their patients equally and support them in
making their own decisions by providing excellent care to them as the disabled people need to
understand the care role of the Healthcare assistant and their performance as well

an at home or near-home setting
Approximately 3 months of effective personal care will be given to Sally, would help her in
setting a proper plan for day to day life that can be followed by her in an effective and in
efficient manner. It is also said that, giving personal care to Sally for the particular 3 months, will
easily lead her to go through different problems and bring out effective solutions to those
problems. With the help of this, Sally may effectively live an independent life (Anthony, 2020).

individual service users, as part of a multidisciplinary team
Multidisciplinary team of healthcare workers effectively helps the individual dealing with
any sort of problem or disease like dementia to conduct every single activity of a normal day for
the patient who is dealing with it (Askheim, 2019). Offering medication in correct time,
supporting Sally with proper communication while performing any activities and listening to her
through getting connected with her emotionally would led healthcare worker in delivering best
quality services to Sally, so that she may become independent after completion of the period of
the particular plan to make her independent.

Conclusion
With the help of above mentioned report, it can easily be said that supporting individual
living would help a patient in performing day to day activities in rightful manner in the way they
used to do before when they caught by the disease. Also, emotional and any other sort of support
given to patient it would easily help them in in finding the best way to cure and much effective
and in efficient manner.
