has huge impact over the personal and professional life of Jacqui's. Due to the result of such

every time and forget to complete the same. Dementia is the disease which has major impact
over the mental ability of individual which have enough interfere in daily routine works. The
most common example that demonstrate person is suffering from dementia is memory loss.
Alzheimer is the most common type of dementia. The early stage symptoms of dementia
includes forget fullness, losing track of the time and becoming lost in familiar places. Middle
stage symptoms includes forgetful of recent events and person names, becoming lost at home,

From the comparison of the symptoms of Jacqui's with above mentioned identified that
he is suffering in middle stage dementia. This will have huge impact over physical,
psychological and social life. This can be understood from the points which are defined below:
Physical: Dementia has major impact over the physicality of Jacqui's as this hinder him
to walk properly. This will disallows Jacqui's to perform daily routine work without support of
any care individual. Another major point which somehow have physical impact over Jacqui's
includes aggression. As, in the situation of aggression, Jacqui's hurts himself and this will results
in physical injury.

sense that he becomes emotionally unstable due to feeling difficulty in remembering the name of
persons and communication. This will hinder Jacqui's to made bond with other individuals and

Dementia is severe disease which diminish the whole life of individual as not allows to
perform any of the function either in personal or professional life. It is the duty of the family and
friends of the person like Jacqui's suffering from the same disease to provide total care and
respond quickly in accordance with the symptoms requirements. There are different groups are
belong in the life of an individual and everyone is needed to support and provide their own
contribution in the process of recovery of the person i.e. Jacqui's. These groups are named as
Friends, Family, Medical representatives. All these have their different role and importance in
the process of recovery of the person like Jacqui's. Their duties are also different which help to
improve the person's physical, psychological and social life. The group response towards the
medical condition of Jacqui's for its earlier recovery is understood from the points which are
mentioned below:
Friends: These are the individuals which have huge influence over the one's life. They
always help and contribute to improve social life of the person. In the present case, Jacqui's's
friends are required to support him in each and every case and be with him while he forget to
perform any function. This will help him that not to cut off from the social circle and always be
in touch with all of them which also results in reduction of physical injuries.
Family: These are person's who always be with the Jacqui's in comparison to friends. It is
the duty of the family members that help Jacqui's in completion of their daily routine work
properly and ensure its mental and physical strength. Family support has huge impact over will
power over emotional stability of Jacqui's which allows him to be more attentive (MacQueen and

The disease of Dementia is not only have the impact over the physical, psychological and
social life of the person suffering from the same but also negatively impacts the other groups
which are associated with the person like family, friends and medical representatives. There is
huge role is played by the health and social care unit in the recovery of the person like Jacqui's
but the different persons which are providing their assistance also have some impact while
associated with Jacqui's for long period of time. These impacts over the different persons of
health and social care unit is understood from the points which are defined below:
Medical representative: The impact seen over this person that regular monitoring at
periodic level becomes the duty which hinders sometimes to perform their own personal work
and other professional duties. Also, required to change their medication in respect of the
emergence of any new symptom. This makes the schedule of representative more hectic and
difficult (Kennedy, 2019).
Staff: These personnels of health and social care unit required to be more attentive while
person like Jacqui's is getting the treatment of dementia in unit. As, due to the issue of
forgetfulness any kind of mistake from staff side results into the physical injury to Jacqui's and
other patients. This will consider as the fault of staff for which they have bear loss in future in
any kind of form.

of the Person like Jacqui's suffering from dementia. As, they attended many cases and deal with
different persons in terms of nature and severity of disease like dementia. This will provides
extensive knowledge and exposure in respect of the symptoms which allows the medical

the policy of care followed by healthcare unit is optimum in nature because as such medication
treatment of this disease is not in existence. So, the policy of optimum care of unit is fully
effective in nature which help to overcome from the the adverse impact of dementia and help to
be more social in nature and safety from physical injuries.
I noticed that the procedure followed by unit to cure dementia is palliative care. As per
the analysis of the results in relation to previous cases ascertained that this care is different in
nature and having the main aim about improving the quality of the life of people. As, medication
is not present so, focus is provided on development of the mind and spirit too. The effectiveness
is also ascertained of this care from the point that it help the sufferer to be independent and
manage daily life. Secondly, medicines are provided but they does not have any role to cure
dementia. These will help to improve mental function, behaviour or mood. Last step of
procedure which falls under palliative care is support which help patient to become emotionally
strong.
The basic solution in accordance to me for curing dementia includes usage of pet therapy,
calm approach and maintenance of routines. To improve social networks have visit the
counselling classes on regular basis and spend time with family and friends and participate in
different playing activities.
2.2 Support of others in social networks to bereaved individuals
Social networks are group of person's which interact with themselves and share own
views. There are different type of social networks made by the person. These categories includes
friends, family, working place etc. In the present report, Jacqui's is suffering from dementia. One
of the approach which is beneficial to cure dementia is about building good social networks. The
person's persist in these social networks also have the duty to provide support (Miller and
Rasmussen, 2010). Three different social networks have by Jacqui's includes friends, families
and counselling team at care unit.
Friends: These have the contribution in the form that for the practice where everyone
share own views and perception about life. This will help Jacqui's to improve communication
that results into creation of positivity towards life.
Family: These are needed to help in performance of daily work through maintenance
perfect routine. Also, play family games and encourage Jacqui's to participate. This will mental
situation and brings emotional stability.

Counselling team: They have the duty to work with positive attitude as to transfer good
vibes to Jacqui's while doing counselling work. This will provides mental support and stability to
Jacqui's that professional are be with him and have positive in nature regarding its cure and
treatment.
2.3 Evaluation of the suitability of the external sources of support available for bereaved
individuals
There are many external sources which support to overcome from the adverse impact of
impact of dementia includes Cholinesterase inhibitors, Cognitive Dementia and memory service
and Dementia behaviour management service (Services to support people with dementia and
their carers. 2018). The suitability of these sources understood from the points defined below:
Cholinesterase inhibitors: This is the medicine which help to improve the mental
strength of person and allows boosting the levels of chemical messenger involved in memory and
judgement. The different aspect which is included under this medication are donepezil (Aricept),
rivastigmine (Exelon) and galantamine (Razadyne). Patents who are taking cholinesterase
inhibitors will generally show improvement on cognitive ability and measures of impairment
functions.
CDAMS: The suitability of this can be ascertained from the nature of work performed by
this service that help in future planning, provide expert diagnosis, provide information about
daily issues. All these aspects performed also through home visit which is best in case of patient
suffering from dementia. Also, provide further solutions on the basis of the solutions of the
outcome and results (Oh, Ozkaya and LaRose, 2014). This is a specialist multidisciplinary
diagnostic and very impactful in recovering with bereavement.
DBMAS: This help to improve the behaviour of person suffering from dementia while
impacting its own care. The suitability of this service is ascertained from the benefits derived by
patient from its entailment. DBMAS identify behavioural and psychological symptoms and
provide solution for the same so, better care is provided. This is a management of advisory
sercices which works for enhancing lifes of people who are dealing with demential. It helps in
recovering behaviour of individual who are affected by this problems.
Give and take treatment: This treatment is very helpful in overcoming with
bereavement as it will enhance the energy level of the patient. It will also diminish the

manifestation and boost strength of individuals dealing with this. In this acupuncture,
homeopathy as well as needle therapy is provided to patient so that they can recover fast.
Meditation and unwinding: Meditation as well as unwinding provide full support to
individuals dealing with bereavement. These are effective and efficient way to defeat various
problems of individual. Through these practices patients body will be more relaxed and they will
be able to deal with anxiety. Meditation will influence the capacity of a person and their body
will be able to recover quickly.
TASK 3
3.1 Organisational response to support individuals experiencing in significant life events
Healthcare organisations have the only aim to provide optimum care to their patients
suffering from any disease irrespective of their treatment available or not. There are many
diseases regarding which still no proper medication is available for its treatment. Dementia is
one of the disease which falls under this category (Types of medication to treat Dementia. 2019).
Afterwards, many clinical trials are operated by the healthcare units for identification of proper
treatment. Some of the responses which are taken from the healthcare units side to cure the issue
of dementia as faced by Jacqui's includes:
Cholinesterase inhibitors: This will doesn't help in optimum cure of dementia but help
to overcome from one of its symptom. It help to prevent messenger chemical in our brain which
is known as acetylcholine from breaking down. Its prevention help in learning, memorise and
build better mood. Cholinesterase inhibitors delays the procedure of worsening of dementia
symptoms.
Memantine: This is the medication provided to improve memory, attention, reasoning
and language. This will provide help in balancing glutamate which is known as another
messenger chemical which improves the memory and learning (Parry and Urwin, 2011).
3.2 Personal contribution of health and social care professional on their own contribution to
support individuals
As a health and social care professional, I have much contribution in development of the
situation of patient suffering from dementia and bereavement. First and foremost step taken by
me in these cases is about use of cognitive behavioural approach. This helped me to determine
the behavioural pattern of person which further allows me to choose the therapy and care

approach accordingly. Then after, I made contact with the family members and friends of the
patient to grab the information about the incidence which was happen with him to ascertain the
stage of symptoms. This helped me to decide the dose of medicines which help me to control
mind and behaviour of person. These medications have direct impact over its memory and
judgement power. Thirdly, plan is made be me which is work as routine. This was required to be
followed by the patient. The importance of such plan is that it help to remember the things
important things which are needed to perform from medication to the daily routine works. In last,
regular monitoring is done by me at frequent and fixed intervals to ascertain the results. If the
impact of the overall process and medication is positive then I continued with the same otherwise
change the course and focus on more personalised service.
In the very severe cases, I also provide one attended to patient which help to follow the
plan and improve his situation and over come from the adverse impact of dementia. There are
many cases in which I saw improvement over the period of time by following this procedure as
this helped all of them to improve socially, physically and psychologically.
3.3 Recommendations for improving support available in care organisation for affected
individuals and social networks
The recommendations to improve support available at care organisation in respect of
affected individuals and social networks are defined below:
Personalised care: The medical professional requires to be focused on more
personalised care instead of provide medication on the basis of the presence of general
symptoms. As, different patient have different symptoms, stages and immunity level so,
personalised care help them to recover fast with least side effects (Seery, Holman and Silver
2010).
Full disclosure and effective disbursement of information to family members: This
will includes about the duty of the professionals regarding providence of all information which is
true in nature to family member of patients. Also, they have to use and adhere proper channel of
communication which allows internal staff to effectively know their duties and perform with
accountability.
Training and development programs: This type of program will help in boosting
morale of an individual as well as motivate them to enhance their life. Training will support
patients so that they can overcome with this issue and live a better life. By providing regular or

periodic training and developing to person who is dealing with these problems will lead to
support person in overcoming with these issues.
Standard procedure: It is very important that person who is dealing with this type of
issue should have a specific operating procedure. Their family members as well as friends should
completely support and they should be involved or informed regarding issues of patients.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the above report that dementia is severe disease and huge
impact over the person's life. The different symptoms of this disease hinders Jacqui's in
performance of professional and personal work. Dementia has impact over three different aspects
of an individual like physical, psychological and social. Different type of groups have their own
different duties while responding to the person suffering from dementia. Family has the most
important role as their support provides emotional stability to the person. The negative impact of
dementia is not only faced by the person suffering from the same but others also have face the
issues such as medical representatives, family and friends. There is huge contribution of the
policies and procedures framed by the organisation in proper treatment of the Jacqui's. As, these
work as standards which have to follow by all the personnels of the care unit while treating the
person suffering from dementia.
