This report is report is prepared to find out the need for investment and to make a proposal
for an investment in capital assets for the Venice Family Clinic. Te Venice Family Clinic is a
renowned family clinic providing healthcare diagnostic facilities to successfully for a long
time. They have various departments which make it possible to serve their customers with a
quality service experience. In this report some areas of improvement have been analysed and
an investment in capital assets have been proposed with a detailed feasibility analysis of the
investment.

Venice Family Clinic is a renowned healthcare service provider in Venice with
specialization in diagnostic of diseases and complete healthcare solution. Healthcare is a very
important issue and it needs proper care and highly prioritize treatments in time as it is related
with the lives of human being. The Venice Family Clinic is having various departments and
specialised personnel who perform their duties in providing the services in time. It can be
observed that they do not have any transportation facilities for transportation of the patients.
Therefore, it can be suggested for them to purchase an Ambulance for transportation of the
patients.
Strategic Goals:
The transportation of patients to and from the clinic is necessary for providing certain
diagnostic and healthcare facilities, and it becomes very important for emergency patients. In
emergency very small amount of time may cause a major effect to the patient and hence
needed to be taken to the clinic as soon as possible. The transportation of patient must be
comfortable, the vehicle must be equipped with enough medical instruments, and
instruments, such as oxygen, pulse measurement kit and so on. If it can be made possible then
more advanced services and facilities can be provided to the existing patient of the Venice
Family Clinic as well as it can be used as an additional revenue generating unit by providing
the patient transportation service separately (Baum & Crosby 2014).

Financial Research:
The Venice Family Clinic is based on Los Angeles, Venice and they have been
serving the community since 197. With the improvement in the quality of their services they
have gained a huge customer loyalty and have been performing well both financially and
operationally. There are various suppliers of such fully equipped patient transport vehicles.
Ford E 350 can be a good choice for such investment. The price of the Ford E 350 is around
$27,1000 including other initial costs and it can be estimated that the patients can be charged
$5 per kilometre (Cars.com 2019). It will cost around $1,000 per month for the chaffer and a
fuel and maintenance cost of $1,500 per month.
Organisational resources:
The vehicle needs to be equipped with some medical instruments and facilities, as the
Venice Family Clinic is a old brand in the health care service they are having such
equipments. If they are having some spare of those equipments then it can be installed in the
vehicle otherwise, it needs to be purchased additionally which may cost around $5,000. A
permanent chaffer is needed to be hired.
Communication:
The Venice Family Clinic is having a customer support department and a help line for
emergency contact. Patients can directly contact the customer support department and ask for
the transportation vehicle. The support department will then convey the message to the
transportation department with the location and the customers’ details. The patient from the
clinic can directly book the vehicle.

Impact and justifications:
Initially it will require a significant amount of investment in the capital assets and up
gradation of vehicle to provide a premium service to the patients. Initially it could be used for
transportation of the existing customers because the service could easily be offered to them.
Initially it might not be profitable but definitely increase the service efficiency.
In long term, it can attract attention of the customers and can make a significant
demand for the service and it can be observed that it could generate a significant amount of
additional revenue for the Venice Family Clinic.
Therefore, if it could be implemented then additional capital assets would be included
with the existing assets base and it can generate additional revenue and profit for the Venice
Family Clinic. Though it might be conflicting to estimate a profit that could be made by the
additional investment as it depends on future market potentials and demands for the service.
