This report presents a literature review focused on the mental health challenges faced by healthcare workers. The research utilizes the PICO framework to investigate the impact of flexible working hours on healthcare worker mental health, comparing interventions and outcomes. The study examines various factors contributing to mental health issues, including undesirable working conditions, high workloads, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. A search strategy employing Boolean operators was used across multiple databases, including Google Scholar, Scopus, CINAHL, and Medline, with specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings highlight the prevalence of stress, tension, and isolation among healthcare workers, particularly in high-pressure environments. The report synthesizes information from several studies, providing a summary of their aims, methodologies, and key findings, emphasizing the need for interventions like flexible working arrangements and supportive management strategies to enhance the wellbeing of healthcare professionals and mitigate the negative impact of their work on their mental health.
