Report
AI Summary
This report delves into the crucial role of information systems within the healthcare landscape. It highlights the importance of standardized terminologies, such as NANDA, NIC, NOC, and the Omaha system, in ensuring effective communication and uniformity in nursing processes. The report emphasizes the effective utilization of various information systems, including CPOE, EHR systems, decision support tools, and digital resources, for enhanced patient care. Furthermore, it analyzes a video discussing big data, its collection methods (including sociodemographic and wearable data), and its application in healthcare, specifically referencing a case study involving a patient with diabetes. The report also addresses the challenges associated with big data, such as data security, ownership, and the selection and analysis of relevant information. The overall focus is on how data is used for data security and effective healthcare delivery.

1HEALTHCARE ASSIGNMENT
Information holds an important place in the care process and with development and
industrialization, it has become important to implement information system for the benefit of
the care process (Butcher et al., 2018). Single shared consensus-driven model of terminology
is the aspect that helps care professionals to be aware of the terminologies that are used
internationally and are used by international nursing organisation for the uniformity of the
process (Dang & Dearholt, 2017). The terminologies which are used by nursing professionals
throughout nursing processes are NANDA or North American Nursing Diagnosis Association
which is 64% useful in nursing process, NIC or Nursing Interventions Classification, NOC or
Nursing Outcomes Classification and the Omaha nursing terminology (Arnold & Boggs,
2019). These terminologies are used by nursing professionals throughout the world and is
effective in making their processes effective without any complication (McCormick & Saba,
2015).
While working in the healthcare system, it is important that the nursing professionals
utilizes the Information System or ISs effectively. The ISs that the nursing professional’s uses
effectively in their care process are computerized physician order entry or CPOE, EHR
system, decision supporting tools and digital resources (Butcher et al., 2018). These ISs are
used for the effective healthcare and for their proper access and usage the nursing
professionals should be provided with effective training. These systems are station based as
usage and application of these would require complete focus to remove medication error
(Dang & Dearholt, 2017). Therefore, their location is directly associated with their
application or usage in the healthcare process.
Video analysis
This video discusses about the data collection and data storage associated with big
data and discusses the case of Bob. (35), suffering from diabetes and shows up to the
healthcare professional for routine checkup. In this process, the video mentions the

information that the care [professional collected for proper analysis of patient condition.
Starting from patient’s regular data collection, sociodemographic data, wearable
technological data, to the pharmaceutical and research data helps to form the data for Bob,
which is then collected in the big dataset collected for the entire community at that place (Big
Data in Health Informatics, 2019). This video then analyzed the way, such big data could be
used. Finally, the mention of challenges such as data theft, data ownership, and decision
making for the selection of correct data and analyzing the correct data for analysis and the
data storage for the security and protection of data to be used by healthcare professionals had
been discussed (Big Data in Health Informatics, 2019). Therefore, this video shared
important and adequate information for the usage of data for data security.
