2HEALTHCARE OPERATIONS
Question 1
The culture and performances are very much interrelated with each other but in the
healthcare systems the performances of the healthcare systems has decreased a lot because of the
mismanagement of the organizational culture. The efficiency of the healthcare systems are
decreasing day by day because of the improper organizational structures. It is really becoming
unrealistic to deal with the decreasing efficacy of the health care systems and it involves must
cost to change the present organizational cultures of the hospital though a lot of changes are
being made to improve the culture of the health care systems. If the changes move on like this
then surely the performances of the healthcare can be changed by changing the organizational
structure (Kellett and Fitton 2017).
Since many years, many changes in the healthcare professions have occurred, changes
have also occurred in the relationships of the hierarchy and also in the structure of the
organization. Apart from changing all of these in the healthcare systems, the system is not
working properly to maintain the performance of the health care system. So it is very much
reasonable to change a little bit the healthcare system so that it can work efficiently (Calciolari,
Prenestini and Lega 2018).
Question 2
The World Health Organization has published different challenges and strengths for the
purpose of application of system thinking. The multidisciplinary skills is very limited and the
partnerships of the research and the collaborations s very weak. In the given case, a hospital
whose bed capacity is 500 has been considered. Apart from having such huge number of bed
capacity the hospital is struggling for the timely provision of the surgery services (Warren et al.

2016). In this case, the policies, priorities and perspectives must be arranged properly so as to
solve the problem of the availability of the surgical instruments. The hospital authority must at
first check whether proper funding is there to arrange for the new surgical instruments. If proper
funding is not present, then the hospital authority will have to seek the help from the
Government for providing the hospital with money. Application of the different constituencies
should be done for evaluation of the issues (Riley et al. 2017).The view of the whole system
must be considered, for example, in this case, the hospital had funds to accommodate for 50 beds
but there are less surgical instruments. As the number of beds are large, so the administration of
the hospital will take admission of many people at the same time. But the surgery cannot be done
due to lack of the instruments, hence there is no need to keep such high number of beds. If the
capacity of the hospital is large, then thy must get the treatment properly as the patients are
coming to hospital for getting proper treatments. The health systems researches should be
increased at the national levels. In the given case, if the Government take time to provide money
to the hospital authority, then the hospital authority has to arrange for money to buy the surgical
instruments.
