INTRODUCTION
Person centred care is where patients actively participate in their own medical treatment and cooperate with health professionals.
This presentation is based on person centred care approach as what makes it effective and reason of using this in healthcare.
Main four principles of person centre care approach that make this approach effective and efficient
include:
Treat people with respect: Service users feel that they have lost their independence as soon as they enter care
and it puts their dignity at risk. But this person centered care approach enables service users to maintain their
dignity as healthcare providers respect them and their needs.
Providing coordinating care: Healthcare providers sometime become frustrated because they have to
consider needs of patients and it becomes difficult for them to provide care that is good for patients. So, they
need to interact with other careers in order to make better decision and solving such kind of problems . It helps
them out I delivering care to patients and along with this, they need to maintain privacy by not sharing
personal details with others.
Offering personalized care and support: As compared to standard approach, personalized care may have
positive impacts on overall health of service users. It is principle of person centered care approach to provide
personalized care as it allows service users to retain some of their freedom. It can satisfy their needs and can
make them feel valued as well

use this approach in health care. Some benefits that service users and service providers can take with this approach include:
Decreases unfair treatment: As it is stated that in this approach all factors are being considered that can make beneficial to service users.
So, in this context, it can be said that this approach can decrease the risk of negative, unfair and harmful treatment. Service user is put at the
centre of the care and he is being allowed to choose the way in which they want to be cared and supported.
Flexibility: Other main benefits of person centered care are flexibility as service users are being provided an opportunity to take decision
into their own treatment.
Responsibility: service users are being given responsibility for their own decision and it makes them feel valued, interested and engaged in
their own well-being. Overall, it can be said that this approach makes beneficial to service users.
Autonomy: People who take responsibility for their own health are more likely to become more aware of their health. It makes service users
aware about their own health as whether they are having properly, getting enough exercise and others.
