Introduction of role as a manager
The term “healthcare environment” is not an easy subject to understand, because it consists
of different elements that requires proper study in order to gain knowledge effectively. In this
report, my role is of a manager who is working in small social care enterprise named as Badger
Healthcare Ltd. Specifically, For more than 20 years, the Birmingham and District General
Practitioner Emergency Room gathering (Badger) has been conveying high caliber, out-of-hours
essential human services to nearby patients. Badger was set up in 1996 by GPs who combined to
give an improved out-of-hours administration to their patients. Eminent for its broad experience
and quality consideration, Badger has developed an esteemed notoriety which is all around
regarded all through Birmingham and South Staffordshire and known the country over. Also,
currently Badger Healthcare Ltd. Delivers support and advice for people who have multiple
sclerosis (Muzslay and et. al., 2017).
Roles: Basically, Badger Healthcare Ltd. is following the hierarchical structure and looking
forward to secure funding from CCG. Therefore, being a manager in Badger Healthcare Ltd., my
major role is to come up with proper planning of different range of strategies that will not only
help Badger Healthcare Ltd. to secure the funding from CCG but it will also improve the
productivity of the different operations to serve the best advice along with the support to the
individuals that are dealing with multiple sclerosis. On the other hand, some of other roles are
Bringing appropriate alterations within workplace where, this is considered to be one of the
crucial role that I am have while working in Badge Healthcare Ltd., where it is must for me to
bring appropriate changes among existing strategies, policies comma and other elements as well
so that competitive advantages like saving the funds from CCG can be done (Dyell and et. al.,
2018).
This could be anything from making structural changes within the working station and many
more others. Develop an effective working environment: In order to serve the best to
individuals it will be required for me as a manager of Badger Healthcare Ltd., to conduct
evidence based research in order to understand the trends and apply them within the workstation
in order to improve the working environment. Potential cost saving: Another role that I have
while serving as a manager within Badger Healthcare Ltd is to save the cost of operations
through utilizing the different resources in an optimized manner. This will not only help social
enterprise to reduce the waste materials but it will also so help company in saving the limited

resources for a longer period of time. This will effectively reduce all the expenses that may lead
Badger Healthcare limited to go through different aspects in a rightful manner. Developing a
strong business culture: Another role of my own while working in Badger Healthcare Ltd as a
manager is to develop a stronger culture. An organization with a solid authoritative culture can
viably change its way of life since its workers are receptive to their hierarchical structure
(Alamri, 2016).
For instance, if representatives are profoundly dedicated to a work-group structure and their
groups want to move the way of life to concentrate on new items or administrations, they may
follow the group. They should conform to new ways that the organization will sort out itself and
position itself in the market to be fruitful. Therefore, these are said to be some of the crucial role
that I will be playing being a manager in Badger Healthcare Ltd., Which will not only help me
out in securing the funds from CCG, but it will also lead the social enterprise to deliver the best
quality services to individuals with multiple sclerosis.
Potential impact of any structural change on the culture of the organization
Over the years, every single organization is specifically changes organizational structure
due to many reasons which may impact negatively and positively upon overall performance level
of a company (Muller and et. al., 2016). In present context, Badger Healthcare Ltd, which is the
small enterprise delivering different range of services to individuals dealing with multiple
sclerosis, it is must for the organization to change its organizational structure because it will not
only help the social enterprise which is larger to improve its proficiency level but it may also
start delivering right service to the correct individual in set time frame. Since, Badger Healthcare
Ltd., is following hierarchical organizational structure, they are facing delay in delivering
information from top level management to lower level because it consists of a systematic
structure. But, there are sometimes where management of Badger Healthcare Ltd., would require
to deliver the information to the lower level management much effectively but due to the
hierarchical organizational structure, company goes through different range of issues and slow
down the overall efficiency level of productivity (Burnham and et. al., 2017).
It will be required by management of badger healthcare limited to effectively adopt
Matrix organizational structure as it consists of a particular ability where an individual that
belongs to the lower level management can reach directly to the top level management in order
to deliver any sort of information. This change in structure it is may be possible that company

may face both positive and negative responses like if it is talk about the positive element then, in
any sort of uncertain situation right decision can easily be taken in a short span. On the other
hand, if it is talk about the negative sense then it will directly increase the complexity like to
whom the information is required to be given and to whom not.
Impact on the culture: This change will positively impact upon the culture of Badger
Healthcare Ltd., because it will directly improve the time management system from the existing
one which was followed by management of the social enterprise which was a hierarchical
organization structure. Also, the communication process will also improve because the employee
belongs to lower level management can directly speak with the directors and the head of the
department within Badger Healthcare Ltd. This is where, staff can easily share their ideas in
order to improve the overall efficiency level of the company as there is directly stays connected
to the ground level where all the operations are effectively be done. On the other hand,
collaboration can also be done among different functional departments of Badger Healthcare Ltd.
This could be understood with very good example of operations and HR Management, where
operations department is looking forward to have skilled nurses who has qualifications and
experience of treating individuals with multiple sclerosis (Peixoto, Domingues and Fernandes,
2016).
This is where, information can easily be given to HR manager or any other individual
working in the HR department about the specific requirement and with the help of this HR can
easily recruit the desired employee for the vacant seat which was available in the operations
department. Another benefit of utilizing matrix organizational structure is that it will help Badger
Healthcare Ltd's employees to develop skills by their own as they will be responsible of taking
decisions by their own or delivering suggestions to the upper level management (Koontz, 2017).
Ideas for change
In order to secure funds from the CCG, Badger Healthcare Ltd. Can effectively take into
consideration of a number of changes and a few alterations are: Changing the organizational

Also, it will help company in taking right decisions of the suggestions which were given
by lower management to top level administrators of Badger Healthcare Ltd. Bringing
innovation in practice: Since, Badger Healthcare Ltd. Was utilizing the traditional approaches
while serving individuals dealing with multiple sclerosis, bringing alterations within that will
help management to improve its image in front of the society. This will directly going to help
Badger Healthcare Ltd. to secure funds from the CCG for better servings to vulnerable.
This could be understood with a good example where, keeping medical records in a
particular online application and the detailed information about individuals living with multiple
sclerosis, will help Badger Healthcare Ltd. To take right decisions in correct time. Using an
optimistic approach while using resources: This is considered as one of the crucial aspect,
which is beneficial not only for a social enterprise but for other companies as well that are
dealing among different sectors. Basically, utilizing less natural resources for recycling them and
utilizing them again will directly put positive impact on the environment because this is
particularly one of the ethical activity that would not only e going to get supported by the society
but it will also help company to develop its image and front of the world (Hawk and et. al.,
2017).
This change, will help Badger Healthcare Ltd. in reaching to a success level in a short
span and may also aid in saving funds from the CCG. Improvising the quality of service from
existing situation: Quality has been a vital element for every single business organization that is
dealing among different factors when it comes to grab a good customer base. In the same way, it
will be required by Badger Healthcare Ltd. To improve the quality service from the existing
