This report presents a data analysis of a survey conducted among healthcare employees in India, focusing on the upstream supply chain. The analysis examines demographic factors like gender, age, and experience, revealing insights into the respondents. Key findings highlight that specifications and standards, timely delivery, and safety are crucial factors influencing the supply chain. The report also identifies misplacement of medical equipment, late delivery of medicinal products, and lack of proper vehicle maintenance as major issues. Furthermore, the analysis reveals that challenges such as lack of awareness, deficiency of top management support, and limited communication affect the supply chain. The study uses tables and charts to present the data, supporting the findings with references to relevant literature and highlighting the challenges in healthcare supply chain management in India.

that belongs to a different gender, age, and experience. The demographical result which is

0 to 3 years of experience while only 8 employees have more than 11 years of experience.
Thus, it is evaluated that researcher will be capable to meet the research objective in a
systematic way. Moreover, research scholar will also be capable to collect info from the

From the above table and chart, it is analyzed that out of 40 respondents 12 seeks that
specifications and standards are the key factors of up streaming SCM of healthcare in India.
But at the same time, out of 40 research participants, 8 seeks that compatibility is a key
factor of up streaming SCM of healthcare in India. As the evaluation of survey through a
questionnaire, it can be illustrated that there are many factors that influence the up streaming
SCM of healthcare in India such as the relationship with suppliers, specifications, and
standards, after procurement service and compatibility. This finding is supported by the
view of Uthayakumar and Priyan (2013) as it is stated that SCM supports to create a link to
supply the product and services to their specified consumers. It creates a robust relation with
suppliers because they deliver services to the hospitals.

From the above chart and table, it is analyzed that out of 40 research participants 27 agrees
to this statement that the timely delivery is one of the most significant elements which
affects the upstream supply chain management in healthcare in India. Beside this, out of 40
research participants, 7 seek that timely delivery cannot affect the upstream supply chain
management in healthcare in India. This finding is supported by the view of (Yap and Tan
2012) as it is examined that upstream supply chain management is simply influenced by the
timely delivery of services in healthcare, India.

The above table and chart demonstrated that out of 40 research candidates 25 candidates
seek that safety plays a crucial role in supplying the materials from one place to another.
While, rest of the respondents are not agreed that safety plays an important role to supply
the materials from one place to another place.
This finding is supported by the view of Cantor et al. (2012) as it is explained that safety is
imperative for delivering the product and services from one place to another. Hence, a
manager might make an emergency plan to manage with the emergency and safely deliver
the services in the hospitals.

From the above table and chart, it is analyzed that out of 40 participants 25 respondents
agree that the misplacement of medical equipment is the key issue that relates to the
healthcare SCM in hospitals to doctors and hospital perspective. In contrast to this, out of 40
participants, 7 respondents do not agree that misplacement of medical equipment is the key
problem which associates the healthcare SCM in hospitals to doctors and hospital
perspective.
This finding is supported by the view of Kwon et al. (2016) as it is explained that
misplacement is a major issue in the supply chain management that create the issue to have
healthcare services successfully. In the hospitals, misplacement can increase the process of

the medical function as it creates the complexity to effectively offer services to needed
people. It is also found that the medical operation process is also delayed by poor
documentation during the transportation process.

respondents agree that misplacement of medical equipment’s and late delivery of the

Hospitals in Doctors Perspective. Moreover, it is also examined that out of 40 respondents
12 sought that poor quality of the products and lack of sustainability certification is the
major issue in the healthcare supply chain Upstream for Hospital in Doctor’s Perspective.
This finding is supported by the view of Mangan and Lalwani (2016) as it is explained that
doctors frequently complain about the product quality that is generated by cancel of
shipment and re-order by the end of the supplier. It is also identified that this issue is
become wide in India due to the corruption issue.

maintenance of the vehicles diminishes influences the quality of the medicine while, rest of
participants were disagree with this statement.
The finding is supported by the opinion of Kumar et al. (2015) as it is depicted that lack of
vehicles management can also direct impact on the quality of the product through delay the
specified delivery time of the product. Thus, it is also examined that poor technology can
direct impact on the quality of product and services.
