AI Summary
This report examines the critical role of technology in modern healthcare, specifically focusing on patient safety and collaboration. It highlights the benefits of technology-supported collaboration and information exchange for healthcare professionals and patients, emphasizing the creation of awareness about current health situations and promoting quality care through evidence-based practices. The report discusses the importance of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) in documenting patient medical history, lab results, diagnoses, allergies, and medications to minimize errors and improve patient safety. It also explores how EHRs facilitate evidence-based research and provide valuable insights into treatment and medication effectiveness, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes. The report references key studies and research findings to support its analysis, demonstrating the significant impact of health informatics on the healthcare landscape.

1TECHNOLOGY, SAFETY AND COLLABORATION
Technology-supported collaboration and information exchange has provided a valuable
resource for the health care professional and general people for better delivery of health services.
It has led to creation of awareness about the current health situation and suggests various
recommendations through which quality care and evidence based practice can be promoted. It
allow the collection of data of patient which help in keeping track of the health of people
additionally, it has also promoted the decision support system through which one can prompt
consistency in decision making (Hansen et al., 2019). The outcome of such technology can be
seen in evidence based practice and quality care as the researchers and health care professional
will get relevant information about the effective of current health care practice.
Electronic health record is one of the informatics technology is used to address an
initiative towards patient safety. EHR is equipped with keeping record of the patient health by
documenting the medical history of the patients, lab reports, result, diagnosis, allergies,
immunization dates and medication (Baines et al., 2015). It lowers the chance of any error in
handling the case of patient in giving effective care and treatment. EHR automatically detect the
any risk to health by evaluating the problems when new medication and treatment is being
suggested and give alert to the health care professional regarding health hazard. The electronic
health record, provide information for the evidence base research in health care as it gives
relevant information regarding treatment and medication of the patient. Hence, this informatics
technology helps to improve the safety of patients.
