Improving health care safety program
The technology supports the patient-centered care through increasing the communication
among providers and patients through online portals, e-mail and text messaging (Singh & Sittig,
2016). It supports the health care institutions in accessing all the necessary information for the
safety programs by providing complete online medical records, this leads in enhancing the self-
monitoring and patient convenience. The technology also leads in spreading awareness to the
large number of patients regarding the safety program and support the institutions in reducing the
errors.
Example of common healthcare error
The estimation demonstrate that healthcare industry conduct their operations in highly
competitive environment. Therefore, changes are common in each area because reducing the
errors and duplication in each area. The common healthcare error is the medication error and
finding difficulty in getting at the right time in right place. It is considered the biggest issues
which healthcare institutions has to be solved for removing present and future errors (Gordon &
Catalini, 2018).
To overcome this error technology supports the healthcare institutions to keep the
complete record of the medicines and also make the list of all the medicines given to the patients.
This helps them to maintain the inventory and reduce the wrong medication errors with the
patients because of keeping complete record so that individual understands the required
medicines which are provided to the patients at particular time. Further it also solves the issue of
reducing the other future issues such as payments errors and overcome the problem of wrong
dose.
