The vision statement of the Walden University suggests that the knowledge in the 21st
Century is a different concept. It also emphasizes on the fact that graduates from the
university can apply their knowledge on any challenge faced by them and can get solution in
any critical situation. This emphasizes on the global good that is the vision of the University.
On the other hand, the mission statement of the University highlights that the diverse career
can be chosen and the students will also have a chance to change themselves. They can
transform them as scholar-practitioners that will affect them and will help in bringing better
and positive social change.
Reflect
This has helped me in a number of ways while my study at the university. The
mission and the vision of the university have opened an entirely new area for my education.
This helped me to better know about my education and also about the nursing course that was
chosen by me. The mission of the university is to provide diverse education to the students so
that they can learn the nursing skills that are used all across the globe. This had greatly helped
me as I always wanted to learn about the different skills of nursing so that I can increase and
enhance my knowledge.
The University provides multicontextual education to all the learners which is a great
step towards global education. When my friends in university who are from other countries
used to study or read then it was not a problem for them to share their thoughts as they can
completely understand the topic. The educational program in the university is learner based
which means that it focuses on the quality of education received by each student in the
university. This has helped me to become a scholar practitioner and also to bring positive
social change in the university.

The mission, vision, goal and social change have helped me in the academic and my
professional life. This is because the goals of the university are somewhat similar to mine.
The goal of the university is to bring positive change in the society through the process of
education. This attracted me to complete my course and to be a scholar practitioner. The
university had the process of making and then implementing ideas, actions and strategies that
will help in the promotion of the dignity, worth, development of all the individuals who
belong to a community, organization, culture and society.
This induced a sense of positivity in me and also my dreams of becoming a scholar.
The positive definition of social change provided me an intellectual, comprehensive and
socially acceptable framework for the research in various nursing fields. It also helped me to
develop into more civic, ethical and knowledgeable scholars who are more professional and
are seen by other individuals as role models as they help in the advancement and the
betterment in the society. The university outcome also taught me to deliver unbiased work
and also to communicate effectively with others. This way the university helped me to
support diversity and multiculture practice within my profession, society and community.
