INTRODUCTION
Scenario
In this assignment the study will focus on the health related issues that Ann is facing at
the age 42. there are many diseases that she is facing and for some she is doing curative actions
and for some she is not taking any actions. The scenario here is about a lady whose name is Ann
she is 42 year old, her height is about 165 centimetres, she is of 98 kilograms and the her waist is
96 centimetres.
Her Body Mass Index is 36.4 kg/m square (Melnyk and Fineout-Overholt., 2011). She
lies under the clinical obese category II and she also has an additional disorder in her body. Her
blood pressure level of also very high and as the record of her blood sugar she also has diabetes,
her cholesterol is also raising. Her situation is not as good because she states that she can not
cooks and the packed food items are prohibited for her. She wants to reduce the weight by
natural therapy instead of the getting into surgery. Body mass index is the value which can be
derived from the weight and the height of the individuals.
1)Value of care and its importance for the care of an individual.
Value of care of the is the standard range which is followed for the health and societal
care. The basic objective of the set standard is to attain the health problem to be effectively
cured. The improvement in the quality of the life of the patients is the aim that the value of care
focuses on. As the scenario defines the situation through which Ann is going can be the aim to
focus by the health care centre to effectively cure her problems.
 Equality- The major aspect while treating is to consider everyone as same.
Discrimination should not be done between the patients (Holloway and Galvin., 2016).
The quality of the services must be offered the same to every individual as per their needs
and requirements.
 Diversity- The patient may be of different categories as the treatment is required
according to that they should treat not like all the people are treated in same manner, yes
equality should be there in services not in the treatment of the different diseases.
 Respect- The patient should be treated in proper manner, if the patient is poor and is not
having a big title doesn't mean they do not have any kind of respect, they have to be
respected very well.

It is very important to value the patient as because it plays a very important role in the process of
treatment of the patient. The respect, equality and diversity are the acts which one deserve as
being a patient. It will boost the morale of the individual personality.
2)Medical and social model of care that influence the individual care
delivered.
Medical model of health related to the negative and positive aspect of the body of the individual.
It specifies details of the physical body and tells about the bad health and the diseases of the
person. It helps in knowing all the related issues of the patient (Ivers and et.al., 2012). As the
lady Ann come to know by the BMI that she is having lots of health issues. It basically
concentrate on the diseases and the illness of the individual personalities.
The social model defines that the individual is not ill or disabled instead the way society
is treating them makes them more uncomfortable and make them ill. It does not focuses on
individual it basically considers the relationship between the health and the society. Is mostly
emphasis on the required changes in the society's perceptions and thoughts. This model is very
important as because Ann by herself is very much demotivated and if the society also treat her as
if she is ill then definitely her mental state will get hamper.
3) Law, legislation, policy and codes of practices supports the application of
value in health care.
The rules and the policies are very much important for the health care centres as to carry
out all the operations in an effective manner and the patients also get satisfactory result from the
treatment which they are availing. The objective of the policies and the codes of practices are to
provide a proper guidelines and the standards that helps in performing all the activities
efficiently.
Importance of policies and legislations
 Helps in providing clear idea in the handling the issues.
 Setting the general plan and actions that has to be performed by the staff in helping Ann
to come out of the situations of health issues she has (Alemdar and Ersoy., 2010).
 It also helps in the conveying of all the related things that as a patient should be aware of.
 The policies help the organisation to make all the things understand to the employees.
 It give as specific guide related to the safe and cost effective delivery of the services.

4)Types of communication used in the delivery of value based care.
There are various modes through which the communication can be carried out in delivering the
value based care. The channels through which the organisation convey there messages are as
follows-
 Inter-hospital communications- Here the communication is carried out through the video-
conferencing. The information can easily and quickly can be transferred from one person
to another so as to get the actions done in an effective and quick manner (Boulos and
et.al., 2011). The people can deliver the information related to the diseases and the
actions that they are following and the experts can guide them without going next to the
patients. With the help of this a doctor sitting at far distance can counsel the patient and
can give suggestions to them.
 Intra- hospital communication- Here the nurse and few staffs are always seen running
here and there as to deliver certain messages that have to be given to the related people
within the hospital whether the doctors, patients or the family members of the patients.
 Asynchronous communication- In this way of communication the hospitals use the
traditional concept of the message transfer. The direct meets are done to deliver the
message and also they use to convey the message in paging and telephone systems.
5)Culturally and ethically sensitive health care
Culturally sensitive health care means that the services provider of the health care can effectively
able to serve the patient's culture. The organisation can understand the needs and the
requirements by the cultural study of the particular patient and the best possible option to cure
and treat them can be implicated effectively.
Ethically sensitive health care helps in responding professionally in moral manner wit the
patients whom the services has to be delivered. It is very important aspects as to consider about
the patients and empathising them and ethically handling the situations that come across. The
care that has to be done in an effective manner so that the customer should get satisfaction with
the improved health that they got by the particular health care (Zhang and et.al., 2010.). The
ethics helps in knowing the act which is right and which is no good for the organisation. As
being a service provider in the health care of the society it is very important to be ethical towards
the actions and operations that is been performed in the organisation.

CONCLUSION
With this assignment we have concluded that the the value of care is very much
important in the care of the individual as because the dignity, respect , equality all are the factors
that if considered very well then the patient can get motivation and half of the curative part
automatically get done. The influence of the social and medical models are described
(Raghupathi and Raghupathi., 2014). Types of communication and importance of codes of
practices and ethical and cultural sensitivity of health care is concluded in this report.
