Background and Organization
Health way is a privately owned healthcare facility that with a good brand image and has
been in the health care industry for over the 10 years. The organisation is a small hospital and has
the facilities to treat 20 inpatients at one time. In addition to that, it provides medical care
services to outpatients through clinics and specialising in paediatrics, family medicine and
gynaecology. Te main mission of the organisation is to provide personalised and quality medical
care to the patients.
Suggestions
Information system helps in facilitating the delivery of service at various levels. In context to
Health way, it is very important for the organisation to implement information systems in its
operations in order to achieve organisational goals and getting a competitive advantage.
The Hospital Information System is purely based on focusing the Operations Management of the
Hospital. The data available from the system may be analyzed, collated and can be used for
strategic management that also involves research. The Information System can be divided into
two Managerial Information System and Patient Care Information System.
The division can be divided into two broad categories that help in supporting the human
resource, administrative, hospitality management activities that comes under the Managerial
Information System. In context to Health way, the organisation can use various software such as
Billing and Report generation, Maintaining Patient Details, Providing and maintaining all kinds
of test for patient and providing Prescription, Diet advice and precautions. In context to various

hardware, the organisation can involve various broad range of products which involves blood
sugar meters, tongue depressors, X ray machines, Wheelchairs, stents, artificial hearts and
thermometers.
Enabling and Enhancing Communications: In context to health way, it is very important to
establish communication among the care providers. In order to establish communication, there
are various means and approaches used in order to enhance and facilitate communications. The
main method involves sharing of information which could be achieved through placing the data
generated by each care provider in a common data base.
Information system for Patient Care
In context to clinical and other functions it involves the set of systems which is called Patient
Care Information System which is highly acceptable and attractive.
With the help of right Information system, it will help the health way in providing various
benefits such as safety, productivity, privacy and confidentiality of information, effectiveness,
appropriateness and quality. In order to achieve these objectives, it can done through
administration or management system that helps in supplying demographic, identification and
other static data such as payment class to the Patient Information Database.
The order entry application involves means of communications between the tool for
execution, planning and initiation and among the care providers. The managerial information
system basically involves the applications and sub systems that helps in assisting managers in
running the hospital as a physical facility, business entity and provider of hospitality services.
Hospitals are considered to be the key institutions and there is always a need to have efficient
service delivery in the hospital that helps in making efficient and effective decisions as the good
health is considered to be the paramount to a happy society and need for information system will
help the Health way in enabling hospital management in carrying out efficient and effective
decisions and helps in constructing a reliable and user friendly system to satisfy the hospital and
medical management system. In case of various other medical centres and hospitals, they are still
adopting the manual system of hospital management and these methods have continued to pose a
problem and setbacks to patients, medical practitioners, patients and nurse in both the private

and government hospitals. It is therefore suggested to Health Way to implement the necessary
software and hardware for the purpose to arrange the data into a easy manner which could be
updated and easily accessed by the hospital staff. It will also therefore helps the management of
the organisation in planning and decision making process and the right type of information
system will help in supporting the operations and core of the hospital. In relation to the Health
Way, there are various software and hardware used in the organisation such as Sensors,
Wearable’s and trackers that take a form of accessories and watches that are used in the speedy
manner. Other stand alone devices involves blood sugar test kits which are designed in order to
make the medical care reliable and accessible. In order to carry out patient related management
at institutions, hospitals and clinics that involves various kind of scanners and sensors which are
installed for the patients being admitted. In addition to that it involves CT scans and MRIs. With
the help of using these hardware equipments which is use inside the body of the patient’s body
without any kind of tests and invasive surgery.
