Healthy people 2010 and the healthy people 2020 is the agenda drawn by the federal
government for the overall enhancement of a healthy nation. It is a blueprint of national health
goals which is designed to prevent the threats and the ability to reduce those risks to have a better
position (Healthy People, 2010).
Goals of Healthy people 2010
The case of the healthy people 200 represents the major ideas and the wide variety of the
individuals which are concerned about the health of the nations. Mental health as well as the
agencies where the three major meeting were held for the development of the Healthy People
2010 was reported during the years (Healthy People 2010). During the period of the late 1998
many testimonies were given by the individuals at the meeting. There were a wide variety of the
difference between the quality and the ideas to maintain the health and in terms of the outlook
and the attitude of the public towards their health. These have been discussed in the report in the
detailed manner (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, 2020).
The two major goals of Healthy People 2010 are created to achieve two major goals which
have been listed below.
Enhancement of the quality, and increased healthy years of the life
Elimination of the disparities of the health
Goals of Healthy people 2020
The process of the Healthy People 2010 led to the fewer achievement such as there was a
low rate of the infant mortality, the vaccinations record in the United States was highest, fewer
teenagers are turned out to be the parents and the overall alcohol, tobacco is also leveling off. It
was also observed that the there was a decline in the death rates due arising due to coronary heart
disease. The treatment for treating the diseases like cancer has also seen a jump and
advancement. But the other diseases like diabetes and the other chronic conditions are still
prevalent across the country (Healthy People cornerstone, 2010)
Healthy People 2020 on the contrary are the improvement document of the healthy
people 2010. The vision of the Healthy people 2002 depicts the life in the healthiest manner. The
overall goals of the Healthy people 2020 are to get the longer life along with the quality, to
achieve equity and the prevent any kind of the disease and the disability, creation of the sound
