Heritage Book Website: Design, Development, and Implementation

This project details the design and development of a website focused on heritage books. The website comprises five active pages: a homepage, a books page, a contact page, a delivery page, and a 19th-century book page. The design process began with a storyboard outlining the website's structure and user interface. The homepage features a header with a logo and navigation links, ensuring easy navigation between pages. The website utilizes HTML5 and CSS3 for cross-browser compatibility and media queries to ensure responsiveness across various devices, including mobile and tablets. The books page presents different book categories, and the 19th-century book section lists books with details like author, price, and rating. The delivery page outlines global shipping details, and the contact page includes a form for user queries. Strengths include user-friendliness and accessibility, while weaknesses include the need for more enhanced design elements and improved navigation to book categories from any page. The project demonstrates the application of web development principles to create an informative and accessible online platform for heritage books.

Before writing any code of html or css I had first design its storyboard that is how my
site will look like. In storyboard I just implement the basic design of the site. In my
website there is five active pages that are home page, books page, contact page,
delivery page and 19 Century book page. I had first design the home page and in that
page first of all I had design the header in which I had put the logo of the emblem and
the logo text. In header there are links to navigate between the all the active pages. It is
also a strength of my website in terms of accessibility that everyone can navigate
between the pages and they can navigate from one page to every page of the website
directly without going to a different page. Another strength of my website is that is user-
friendly that is when a new user comes to my website it can easily understand that this
website is related to the old heritage books, in that way user gets a good experience
and he will attract to the website and in that way productivity of the website will
increase. On other hand there is also weakness in the design as we know that in
competition is very high in the market so as per the market standards design of the
website has to more enhance because we have to put some effects on the webpages to
make it more attractive in that user gets a very good experience and the more and
more user will come. In my website I had only use tags of html5 and css3 in that a way
to make it cross-browser compatibility. By using the latest version if html and css it will
ensure that we can use our website in every browser that are commly used worldwide.
In this I also use the media query in css. To make it work on small device also like
mobiles and tablets. This is is feature of css3 to write media query. By writing the media
query we can adjust the content of our website according to the size of the device in
which user is accessing our website, there are generally four types of screen sizes are

their that are mobile, tablets, laptop and large screen systems. While writing the media
query first we have to get the screen size of user's device and then we will write our css
code according to that screen size. In terms of user accessibility to the website one
more weak point is there that if user want navigate to a category of a book then he
should have to open the book page than only from that page he can to go to the any
type of category page of the book, if a user want to navigate to any category page of the
book from page other than book than it is not possible in our website, It can only
improve by done some changes in the design of the website. My website is consist of
five active pages in home page I had put the images and video related to our website
that in first look user can easily understand that this website describes what, then there
is book of the month and a short note on buy and sale books. On books page there is
text that will describe what types of books are we have, and there is also put images of
our book cover page and on the left hand side there is link to go to books categories. In
section of 19 century books there is library of books that are written in the 19 century's
author, in that section there book name, author name, price, rating and small description
of book is written. There is delivery page in which we had given the brief about the
deliveries of the book, in delivery we had mention that we deliver our products all across
the globe, the only difference is in terms of price and time taken to deliver the product. It
has been mention in a tabular form that in which area what is our charges and time take
to deliver the product. In contact page there is contact form, user have to only fill that
form to submit its query. User had to fill up this form by giving his some basic personal
details and what type of query that actually it is like selling books, buy books, want to

lodge a complaint, want to return the book or had some another query. By filling up that
form we can easily get in touch with the user to solve his query.
