INTRODUCTION
Heritage is anything which is considered as significant and helps in preserving resources
for future generation. Heritage is divided into two parts i.e. natural and cultural. Natural heritage
is one which include all-natural elements such as; landscapes, beaches, valleys and mountains
etc. and these should be preserved for future generation. But in cultural heritage, it refers to
places of cultural importance such as monuments, heritage sites, theme parks and these are
playing vital role in tourism development. In present report, cultural heritage tourism has been
discussed in regards to Tibet which is now becoming a popular tourist destination world-wide.
There are many tourism companies who are providing different amenities which fulfil
requirements of customers (Alberti and Giusti, 2012). Along with this; timeline on development
of heritage and cultural industry is discussed in detail. Further, purpose of cultural attraction has
been explained so that tourism company can fulfil the needs of various visitors. In addition to
this, impact of different types of ownership on heritage sites is discussed.

Potential conflicts are arising between government and organisation when they are not following
each other. Even when, enterprises do not understand any rules and regulations which are framed
by government in regard to their benefits, conflicts pop up. Culture tourism of every country is a
challenging phenomenon to be understood by everyone. Government of China is trying to
develop some new projects in Tibet to attract large number of customers. This place is considered
as world-wide destination which provides combinations of fabulous monasteries, unique

intangible culture and many more services. Lhasa is capital of Tibet which is considered as most
visited place in world. Moreover, Chinese government have decided to renovate Jokhang temple
which show culture of country and boosting to tourist members to visit this place in prsent as
well as in future. These heritage sites are also becoming part of culture, but government is facing
many pitfalls in growing and developing these cultural places. So, local bodies or authorities are
moving towards for taking some reasonable steps which can also resolve disputes of people.
However, following are some conflicts which has been arisen while using cultural resources;
Lack of new technology and innovation – Nowadays, there are many new technologies
which are available in market. When government or companies are providing services, it shows
that there is lack of use of advance technology which also impact on the economic development.
So, organisation and governments are responsible to conduct proper training session for
employees, through which they provide quality services to customers and renovate services from
time-to-time
Lack of consultation – Local people are making strategies in protecting their culture but
they are not taking advice from others so it becomes difficult for them to find out best solution to
their problems.
Poor planning and use of land – Proper planning is not done by organisations as well as
government of Tibet. So, it is also arising conflicts in using of heritage resources and proper
implementation of tourism project. Sometimes, it is also affecting living standard of resident
people.
Brown fields sites versus green fields sites – Brown filed site are built on before and
these are normally associated with urban areas. They are more expensive for government to
build. But in greenfield, sites are not built and they are also not situated in urban areas. They are
encouraging people to visit in urban area from countryside.
Conservation threats imposed by further growth – The government has to use
appropriate resources where they can implement with in time period. If there is conservation of
threats, then it will also impact on the future growth of heritage and cultural places.
Lack of presentation of places – The people are also facing issue when guides are not
representing proper place to them. So, it is becoming problem for host community to protect their
heritage sites from visitors. For this, government is responsible to provide training to those
people who can represent heritage place in different ways and can attract customers towards it.

Less assess of new technologies – In current scenario, government have to assess with
integrated software which will help them to maintain their cost in effective manner If they are not
using new software's, then it will become difficult to improve these services so far.
From the viewpoints of mine, government does not have to renovate too much heritage
and cultural places. If they are renovating these places, then it will impact on environment
resources also.

2.1 Purpose and culture of heritage attraction
In UK, there are many tourist places where people are coming to visit. The government is
also trying to provide more new places through which they can attract large number of tourists.
When destination points are set by governments, it should be segmented according to group of
people. As there are different visitors and level of attraction are also different so this should be
properly considered by government in providing new services (Alvarez and Korzay, 2011). The
different places of heritage are having diverse culture and background which can be identified in
following two places i.e. British Museum and Victoria and Albert museum.
British Museum – This museum is dedicated to human history which is related with arts,
culture and located in Bloomsbury. In this Museum, there are numerous things, which attract
people towards it (Raj and Griffin, 2015). The government has provided small space for library
where people can easily spend their time while reading different books. It will help different
kinds of people in collecting information about museum. Moreover, knowledge of visitors will
also increase so that they can come again to visits these kinds of places.

Victoria and Albert Museum – This is world’s largest museum of decorative arts. In this
museum, it represents different sort of styles of arts and outlines which were present in past. In
this museum, many organisations conduct events to attract people. Through this they are
promoting culture sites as well as satisfying the needs of people (Victoria & Albert Museum,
2016). Besides this, there is also a costume collection in this museum of ancient times which is
typically held by Word and image department. At this place, various events are conducted such
as food show, fashion show.

In country, there are different kinds of visitors who are visiting these kinds of place for
their own purpose. The following are some purpose of these both places which clearly shows that
they are different from each other.
Education – In both museums, children or students are coming to visits these places
which help them to increase their knowledge. While visiting, these kind of places, they collect
wider range of information which can be used by them for their own academic purpose
(Ashworth and Larkham, 2013). In schools, colleges different kind of educational programmes
are conducted by governments which can increase their knowledge regarding cultural places.
Research – In museum researchers are going there to search something new from their
wall, painting. It will help them also to make modification if it is possible for them (Loulansk
and Loulanski, 2011). Besides this, it will beneficial for scientist to gain some new information
also.
Entertainment – Visitors can also go for entertainment purpose. For example, event has
been conducted in Victoria Albert Museum, then people are allowed to visit over there and enjoy
the shows which are held by organisations. In this kind of events families or friends are also
going there and spending their leisure time.
Recreational – This activity is related with leisure. The owner of these both museum is
needed to do something for recreation of places. It is considered as essential element of human
biology. These recreational activities are often done for amusement, enjoyment and some are
considered as normal visiting for families or friends.

4.1 Evaluating methods and media for interpretation of heritage and cultural industry
Heritage and culture tourism holds a great place in travel and tourism industry as it
generates revenue. Various modes of media are required to be established in heritage and cultural
industry because it helps the visitors in better understanding (Ashworth and Page, 2011).
Various methods and media are used for interpretation within the heritage and cultural industry
for the purpose of providing the visitors an experience which would help them in understanding
the significance of the place. This interpretation can be through theme, arts and drama, published
materials, guides, audio and visuals, events and fairs etc. With this, visitors can learn more and

add more to their experience. Visitors from different countries learn about the history, culture
and heritage of these monuments by visually looking at the performances or the interactive
technology adopted to explain the rich culture of these places. Vitoria Albert museum enhances
experience of customers in the form of art, drama, tour guides. It will help visitors to learn more
and get best experience. In these museums technical devices are used by owns so that they can
provide better facilities to customers. Further these museums are different from each other
because in British museum events are conducted for students, families to gain knowledge about
their history heritage and cultural place. But in Victoria albert evets are conducted to attract any
type of people so that they can spend their leisure time. Along with this tour guides are also
providing better quality of services in which they can attract more visitors also. For example, if
any visitor is facing any problem, then they can easily ask from tourist guide to resolve their
issues.
For interpretation of tourism industry, organisation is adopting different methods such as
published material which will help them in do more advertisement about destination place.
Further, they can also use updated technology with which they can easily interact with
customers. It saves both the time and money of customers as well as of organisation (Hartmann,
2014). While conducting any event in British Museum and Victoria Albert can also use audio
and sensory techniques. Along with this, employers are having responsibility to satisfy needs of
customers by providing them proper guides, books or maps so that they do not face any issues
while their visits.
When customers are going to hotels and after visiting destination places, manager has to
take feedback from them whether they are happy with their services or not. For keeping
customers happy, they have to provide them brochures or gift cards so that they will come again
and use these services (Jimura, 2011). For this government has to concentrate on improving
heritage resources which will bring revenue for country.
CONCLUSION
From above report it has been concluded that government of China is providing quality
services in Lhasa and innovating temple for attracting large number of customers. While doing
this, it will help them to generate large amount of money. But there are many conflicts which has
been arising between them, so they have to work in coordination and take essential steps to
resolve these pitfalls. Further, there are different types of organisations who are holding

ownership and they are having responsibility to protect heritage and cultural sites. But, they have
to also take care of their customers to satisfy their needs. At last, media is also playing essential
