Tourism having a great significant for various countries because it can
generate income through consumption of services by visitors. Travel
and tourism sector is providing large number of jobs across the world.
This sector is integrated with various elements such as
accommodation, transportation, and other services
GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Before 1945, agriculture was the main source of employment for most of
the people. In this time period, only 'elite' class had luxury of travelling
from one place to another. After industrial revolution people were
expecting drastic changes but things did not change according to their
expectations. Industrialization made a made negative impact on this sector
because people did not get much time for holidays. In this era hotels, tour
operators, travel agents were working separately. They did not have any
knowledge about other services because they tend to work independently.
In this time period, most of the countries were facing world war so no one
was giving much attention to the economic condition of their nation.
Heritage and culture tourism sector is mainly focus on the significance of protecting the
historical aspects of the country. There are various heritage and culture destination in the United
Kingdom such as Blenheim palace, City of Birth, Forth Bridge, Saltire etc. These all tourist
destination are required for the government to work with various organisation for development
of these sites which can provide revenue and employment for the economy.
Tibet is one of the most visited places in the world due to its rich culture and heritage.
Therefore, the government of China are promoting this region and making it more attractive.
For that, they are constructing various projects which can help to develop heritage city and
contribute national economy. Apart from that various business organisation also looking as an
opportunity for their business activities. For example, Inter-Continental Hotel Group also
constructing a luxury resort of 1100 rooms near Lhasa. China has working significantly for
protecting and conservation of Tibet heritage site and also constructing cultural theme park in
this region. They are developing roads and railway which can help to connect this area with rest
of the country.
