Introduction:
Giant Eggplant is one of the popular names in the vegetable and fruit market I
Victoria. They are providing agriculture, bakery and dairy products within Victoria.
The aim of this company is serving verity of products among the people of Victoria.
Giant eggplant wants to expand their company and increasing productivity. Certain
areas need improvement to increase productivity and earn a good amount of profit
from the business. They are focused on departmental weaknesses. They want to
improve the system. The old system of Giant Eggplant is unable to handle all
operations. In this report, the data flow diagram of the expenditure cycle and
revenue cycle provides the data flow and indicate the weakness in the system.

Above dataflow diagram is able to provide several operations in the Giant
eggplant business. This company is buying several products from the different
vendors are selling the products among customer. The supervisor monitors every
transaction and sends every payment report to the finance clerk. Finance

department counts every cash and generate a deposit slip and send this slip to the
local bank.

Above diagram is able to detect every expenditure cycle for giant eggplant.
Departmental clerk reviews the stock and restocks themselves. Suppliers supply the
products and print invoice. After getting every payment details, the financial clerk is
able to pursue a voucher and every details store in the ledger account.

Analysis the weaknesses and risks in Giant Eggplant’s systems:
There is several weaknesses and risks are found in the giant eggplant
business that can be big challenges for the company. In this company, the staff
handle several tasks. Every staff must have different job role. Role of every staff
needs to be divided into several posts. For the security purposes, they need to
install a fire alarm and security camera inside of every warehouse. Security alarms
play a very important role in the company. In an emergency, the alarm plays a big
role inside of a warehouse. CCTV camera is missing inside of the warehouse.
Supervisor and quality assurance department is missing in this company. They have
only one supervisor for the storeroom. To maintain every computer, a cyber-security
expert is missing in this company (Von Solms and Van Niekerk, 2013). A robust
database is missing in giant eggplant. The missing HR department is one of the
main weakness of the company. To maintain every employee, they must create an
HR department. Missing of latest technologies is another weakness for the
company. The biometric machine is missing in this company (Ali et al., 2017). This
machine is able to track every attendance record of each employee.
Mitigation plan of IT controls that should be in place in Giant
Eggplant’s systems:
IT control board must create a plan to mitigate the risks and weakness. They
must implement a new system that is able to track every employee details with their
attendance time. New IT system is able to boot up the productivity and save time.
They must implement a new database system that can record every detail of the
company. Every department must have separated database system to keep every
detail. Cloud database plays a big role here. A cloud-based database is able to store
every department (Al-Aqrabi et al., 2015). IT control board must install CCTV
camera inside of every warehouse. To monitor every movement inside of the
warehouse must be recorded. CCTV camera can prevent issues like theft problem
(Trottier, 2014). IT control board must be aware of the fire. Unwanted fire can
destroy the warehouses and burn every sensitive detail. To prevent this problem, IT
control must install fire alarm and water jet inside of the warehouse.
Conclusion:
Auditors play a big role in every organization or business. They are able to
identify the problems and found a solution to a particular problem. The analyzing
skills of auditors can help a business to grow. In this report, two data flow diagram is
developed. Revenue Cycle data flow diagram provides every operation inside of
giant eggplant system. Its control board identify a few problems in this diagram and
provides few plans for the business. After mitigating every problem, giant eggplant
can extend their company and increase productivity.
