This is a reflective journal that will lay emphasis on my learnings and the overall information
that I gained in during the course study. This assessment will focus on the insights that I gained
during each week of my course, learnings. During the course study of business research, I gained
knowledge about the basic concepts of business research and the theories that are applied in the
business research (Meyer and Peng, 2016. By the course learnings, I study that business research
is a systematic approach to find out the relevant information in the area of business so that the
business can utilize the critical information for the formulation of business strategies. Business
research assists the management in solving complex business issues and also has a great role to
play in corporate management.
During the research done in the course, I study about the data collection methods that are very
important for me as a student. As per my learnings, there are mainly two types of data collection
techniques. The first method of data collection is the primary data collection in which the data is
collected by the primary sources, and the data is authentic as it is first handedly collected. The
primary data is collected by way of survey and questionnaire. In the also, the data was collected
by the technique of questionnaire, and it proved to be very beneficial for the research. The
second type of data collection technique that I study in the assessment and the course is the
secondary data collection method. In the secondary data method, the data is collected by means
of a review of journals, literature and books. Online published data is also used by the researcher
to carry out the research work by way of the secondary data collection method.
I also learned about the data analysis techniques that are helpful for the effective analysis of
collected data. As per my learnings, the data is analyzed based on nature of the data collected by
primary and secondary sources. Generally, there are two types of data that are analyzed by a
researcher in the business research to arrive at a conclusion. The first type of data is the
quantitative data that has figures and numbers as important data that can be measured. The other
relevant type of data is the qualitative data which is expressed in terms of specific characteristics
that cannot be measured. Both types of data have different techniques for analysis. It is at the
discretion of the researcher to choose the appropriate type of data analysis technique for
successful business research. In the course study, I studies about the concept of hypothesis for
the first time. Hypothesis is an important aspect in any kind of research especially in the business

research. Hypothesis can be defined as the statement that has to be proved or disproved by way
of data collection and data analysis.
In the course study, there were various classroom activities that were conducted for the students
so that we can have practical knowledge about the relevant aspects of business research. In the
classroom activities, there were several activities that were group activities, and others were
individual activities. I must say that in all my group activities, all the other team members were
very helping and coordinated in nature. There was a high level of coordination between all the
team members. We continued the group activities by choosing a leader and allotment of work to
each group member (Fuller, et. al., 2016). The whole task was divided into smaller activities, and
everyone was given their part, and all the team members did their part on time with great
efficiency and high efforts. In the last assessment, we researched on the topic of mobile
computing in the fashion industry and that research was very useful for me as gained knowledge
about the significance of mobile computing in the modern day business environment. By the
research I also came to know that by the use of mobile computing, a business can carry out its
operations very easily and is able to attract more and more customers as they are attracted
towards the technology inclination of the company (Hutzschenreuter, et. al., 2016).
The studies of business research helped me to have information about various types of business
researchers that a researcher can use and carry out the investigation in a successful manner. One
more important topic that I study about in the course is the systematic information systems
planning. These can be described as the theories that can be applied in the computer application
research to systematically arrive at the conclusions and generalize the findings (Wirtz, et. al.,
2016). This is a very important concept in the field of information system and information
technology research.
The studies of business research helped me to have insights into the theoretical concepts and
frameworks of business research. I also came to know about the importance of teamwork and
coordination in the assessments. I analyzed that when a work is done in a team; it is more
impactful and has successful outcomes. I can say that the learnings of the course of business
research proved to be very advantageous for me as I learned about various things new concepts
and practiced them in real by way of activities which provided me with the theoretical as well as
practical knowledge of the subject. I can say that the learnings of business research will also help

me in my future as when I would be an entrepreneur I will also have to carry out the business
research to know about the threats and opportunities of the market. The studies provide
assistance to me in carrying out my investigation in a proper manner.
