This literature review critically evaluates existing research to highlight the challenges faced by international students in Australia, focusing on issues related to transition and adjustment to the university setting, increased challenges compared to local students, difficulties in English communication, the need for work-integrated learning, and challenges during work-integrated learning experiences. It examines the stress and adjustment issues, cultural differences, communication barriers, and the importance of work experience for international students. The review also addresses the gap in universities' support services and the need for universities to assist students in developing positive experiences. It concludes by emphasizing the importance of work-integrated learning to enhance the employability of international students and the challenges they face in securing stable jobs.
