The reflection is the summary of own contribution in understanding, developing and doing
the activities for the purpose of learning something (Nash, 2016). It is done when you have
to reflect on the process of your own thoughts and activities during a process of learning.
The reflection here is given on the topic ‘Evaluating the factors affecting Job satisfaction
among workers in hospitality business in Sydney’. It will include the happenings of the
learning process and how it will impact my personal and professional life.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the learning experience
This learning process helped me in gaining various new insights about the hospitality
businesses and factors affecting job satisfaction of the workers employed in this industry.
Hospitality sector, being one of the fastest growing sector in the world, contributes in the
economic growth of the country and also supports tourism industry (Akinyel, 2010). It is
very important to derive satisfaction in customers in this industry as satisfied customers will
only be the repeated customers because it all depends on the quality and type of service in
this industry which determines customer satisfaction (George and Jones, 2008).
Making customers happy totally depends on the employees in hospitality business (Lee,
Back and Chan, 2015). It is because it is a service industry where employees are directly
connected with the satisfaction of the customers. This makes clear that satisfied employees
will able to create satisfied customers. The degree of job satisfaction among employees
determines the health of the organisation in the short and long run (Anitha and Begum,
2016). This learning experience will help me in understanding that ultimately it depends on
the positive internal environment which impacts the external environment and reputation
of the company.
How learning process is useful to me?
This is to be ensured that learning process if useful to an individual. This learning process
gives me new insights about the Human resource development and the hospitality industry.
This could help me in getting admission into the top courses of hospitality. The research and
learning from it can provide unbeatable advantages as this would help me in selecting the

employees. It gave me more confidence and interest to carry on the process. I started
collecting data from different primary and secondary sources. This let me gain reading
habits and increased my learning capabilities. After this, I learnt how to analyse the data
collected from various sources which helped me in getting the conclusion of the research.
Evaluation of learning
This learning is a highly beneficial process for me. It let me learn about the concepts about
which I was not even aware till now. This learning will be evaluated when my teachers will
provide a feedback to me. At the end of the learning process, it is very important to

The learning process of research
Learning process is cumulative and each piece of information adds something new to the
knowledge database. Learning process goes on and completes when the students become
capable of answering the questions related to the topic. Assessing the learning is a common
process and I am analysing my effectiveness of learning process from the quality of research
I prepared after collecting and analysing the data. I learned about different research
methods and how one moves ahead by following each step of the research process. There
are two types of research designs which are qualitative and quantitative research methods
(Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault, 2015). The data is collected through interviews,
questionnaires and from secondary sources which are sufficient to gain enough information
about the topic (Lu, et. al., 2016). I learned about sampling and different techniques of it
which can be used in the research. This knowledge will definitely be added onto my
knowledge base and will help me in my course and in my future too.
How this learning will be applied in future?

helps me in bringing improvement in me. It will help me in analysing my weaknesses and
