INTRODUCTION
Taking care of others is a duty of every person involved in a health and social care sector.
On a broader concept it is believed that patients are the responsibilities of direct care workers
such as doctors nurses etc. This is not a true image on real grounds as the responsivity and role
performed by non-direct care workers is of equal importance (Leahy‐Warren, P.McCarthy and
Corcoran, 2012). They are those employees who are not actually employed for the core activities
of a care home but has a vital significance in its daily operations. The High Gate Care home is
involved in the health sector from past many years. It provides care to both older and young
adults for which employment to a good number of staff members is done. Apart from the direct
care workers the roles and duties of non-care employees is also very much significant in the
referred care home. The following report will discuss how the employees that are not directly
involved in the operations of the health sector play an important part in meeting the objectives of

Non direct care workers consist of that group which is not given a particular job in the area
of care. Their role is to help the serving organisation to carry out their core objectives. They
serve different services in The High Gate Care Home and ensure that continuity of daily
activities is maintained (Daly, 2011). Though the role of non-direct workers is not clearly
defined in the health and social care sector they play an important role as without them is
difficult to cater services to all the users. Clear description of different roles performed by
distinct individuals is given below:
