Introduction
Immigration plays a very significant role in the history and considered as the most controversial
issues in the present era. The immigration is having many sides of the immigration but most of
the views on the immigration are sad. In the study, it has been analysed that immigration is
settled in the empty lands that encourage the rapid communication and transportation system. It
contributes to the growth and developments of the economics. The term immigration can be
explained as the movement of the people to the international market from the domestic country
that does not have the citizenship to settle in the country and is the permanent residents. It will
help in taking the employment opportunities as the foreigner worker or the migrant worker. The
study focuses on the immigration in the UK. The study highlights the problems that are imposed
by the high level of the immigration and the measures taken by the government to solve it.

measures should be implemented to solve them?
What is immigration?
The term immigration is the structure of the new modern world. It can be explained as the
traveling to another country for trading since the historic times. In other words, it means the flow
of the population from one country to another country. People move to the inherent country for
different reasons that may include the studies, work-related and so on. But the main reason is to
get the between opportunities and desire for the standard of the living and future through getting
the between employment opportunities is the main forces of driving.
Entering into another country without the short of the permission of the local government of the
UK is considered as the crime. The countries are facing such type of problems from immigration
of the neighboring countries. The complications faced by the government may include the lack
of the jobs opportunities, living standards, hopscotch, and education and so on. Another volatile
factor includes the terrorism. Due to the immigration, the countries have to face the issues of the
more terrorism that will lead to the lack of the more safety and security to the domestic people
(Blunt, 2016). Due to the surrounded of the hostile neighbors the illegal immigration leads to the
serious problem for the country.
Immigration in the UK
The immigration is becoming the controversial topic in the trend in all over the world. The
immigration is having the great impact on the economy of the UK. Under the British Nationality
law, the immigration to the UK comes from Kenya, India, South Africa, and Hong Kong,
Bangladesh and so on. In the UK the 70% of the population increase from 2001 due to the high
immigration.

In the above graph, it has been shown that there are many reasons for increasing the rate of the
immigration in the UK. People migrate to another country for the reason of the work. Due to the
professional reasons, there are the majority of the people who visit all around the country. They
do not have the citizenship but besides that, they live in another country. Another reason for
migrating the country is for formal studies. Students who want to do further studies and high-
level studies visit the UK because it is the country that is known for the learning and
developments. There are a majority of the families who live in another country which become
the main reason for immigration to join their families (Renewable resources coalition, 2016).

From the above, it has been analysed that the rate of the immigration in the UK is increasing
rapidly. In the year of 2017, it has been analysed that approx. 220000 citizens are migrating to
the UK and approx. 130000 emigrated to the abroad. So, basically, the net immigration of the
United Kingdom is 90000 that means it reduces from 2012.
At the time of the referendum, the net European migration was 189000 that become the reason
for the large following of the votes. It was the reason for leading to the Brexit. In the UK there
are 3.7 Million people are the migrating citizens that is the highest record of the immigration in
all other countries.
The problem arises by immigration
The immigration is the considered as the natural part of the open economy and the societies,
there are problems that are incurred by the immigration that is simply unsustainable. All the
countries are having the border control and the policies to admit and to turn away. It has been
recognized that immigration is having different understandable reasons to raise the better lives

and standards for the life and to make the positive contribution to the communities or the
societies. The issues of the immigration can be explained as the immigration that is having the
serious consequences for the size of the population and the abilities to cope up with the public
services.
The UK is having the high rate of the immigration that leads to the various problems that are as
follows:
Unemployment:
It is necessary to recognise the effect of the labour market that is created by the immigration that
faces the number of the methodological challenges. Such as the victors move to that people that
experiencing the economic growth and having the strong labour demand that causes the
immigration of the changes in the employment and the wages. It develops more difficulty in
establishing the causality. Another issue faced by the UK due to the high immigration rates is
international immigration in the certain area that will lead to leave the workers and to immigrate
to another part of the world. Due to this situation the labour market effects that are degenerated
in another country. It will make more difficult to analyse the labour market. It will make more
trouble while making distinctions between the migrants that are having the actual impact on the
wages of the UK born workers (Swing, 2015).
The critical issues of the migration policy in the UK are that it leads to the Unemployment.
While comparing to 2010 with 2015 approx. 2.1 million jobs have been created and around 53%
approx. 1.1 million have been taken by the workers who are non-UK and rest taken by the
British workers that will lead to the scarcity of the unemployment opportunities for the UK
citizens. The research demonstrates that the effect of the immigration on the labour market is
inconclusive.
Wages:
The immigration is having the two impacts that affect the wages that are expanding the supply of
the labour that is having the adverse effect on the level of the overall wages and another one is
without moving the average level of the wages that are having the great impact on the
distribution of the wages. It spread the wages from the high paid to the least paid at the bottom

line. With the context of the immigration in the UK, there is a disapportinate concentration of
migration that is having the low wages as the workers who are born in the UK will receive the
least. The UK due to the high immigration rates is international immigration in the certain area
that will lead to leave the workers and to immigrate to another part of the world. Due to this
situation the labour market effects that are degenerated in another country. It will make more
difficult to analyse the labour market. It will make more trouble while making distinctions
between the migrants that are having the actual impact on the wages of the UK born workers
(Anderson, 2014).
Fiscal Impacts:
The fiscal policy affects the individual who pays the tax. It has been considered that tax revenues
are generated by the migrants but it is much lower than the local citizens of the country. The
estimation is different due to the different assumptions such as expenditures of the children of
the migrants that are allocated by the UK born citizen. There is both negative and positive impact
of the immigration on the public finances, to measure the calculation it is very difficult.
Immigration leads to the disagreements about the particular cost (Ielts-simon, 2016).
Measure for dealing with immigration
The UK is having the most serious crisis due to the increase in the migration rate. It is necessary
to make create the peace and the whole in the country. In the few years, there are millions of
migrants who come in the UK and thousands are on the parlous journey. When the migration is
becoming the phenomena in the world it becomes the biggest concern for save the lives of the
migrant. It is needed to stop as there are 150000 migrants and among them, many create the
terrorist activities.
There are following activities that should be addressed by the government of the UK that will
help in reducing the immigration. It is as follows:
 Address the drivers of involuntary migration and create more legal avenues of migration.
In order to decrease the number of arrival of the migration, the government should create
more legal producers. The migration of the people should depend upon the reason of the

migration if it is not necessary then they should not be hired as the migrants (Gregg,
2012).
 The government needs to provide security to the borders. The borders in the UK are the
most illegal immigrants that cross and which is not secure. In order to stop it, the
resources and technologies should be used that will reduce the flow at one place. It will
only take the funding and certain commitment from the communities.
 Another strategy that should be implemented by the government is to develop the
effective and friendly guest worker program that will help the people to allow coming
who needed the jobs that are done by the local communities.
 The government needs to increase the dramatic in the prosecution and investigation in the
business that employees who are working are legally permitted for live in the country or
not. There should be a legal penalty and heavy imposed who encourages the people to
enter illegally in the country.
 Another measure should be taken by the developing the new resigns for attracting the
new talented visitors who came to stay. The only students should be allowed to the
countries who are special and who contribute best to the developments and growth of the

Conclusion
From the above, it has been concluded that Immigration is becoming the controversial issues in
worldwide. The reasons for migrating to the country can be classified into the economic, social,
environmental and political aspects. The immigration will have both the positive and negative
impact on the country. The immigration will lead to the unemployment; poor safety and security
to the local community, sometimes lead to the poverty and concern the high crime rates. But
another side the positive factor of the immigration is that it leads to development and growth of
the economy. The government and local communities get the high security and between service
providers. It creates the safer atmosphere. In the study, it has been studied about the problems
that are incurred by the immigration and the measures that must be implemented to solve it. In
