CE 2.2 Project Background
CE 2.2.1 Characteristics of the project
I was assigned for supervising the ongoing project of the high-rise building. Construction
and designing of the buildings is highly risky and crucial project that needs to monitored and
evaluated under proper guidance considering the successful delivery of the project. Since, ground
for the increased population has been lacking with the passage of time and thus, it has become a
dominant factor to build high-rise buildings those can be very dangerous, if not constructed
under proper engineering guidance. I used the Staad Pro for the delivery of a sophisticated design
of the high-rise building through defining the techniques for the creation of the geometry, beam
and column cross sections and many other aspects related to the design of the building.

CE 2.2.3 My area of work
I was hired for the designing and analysing high-rise building frame and supervise the
project. I utilized STAAD pro for identifying the crucial design and aspect related to the
construction of this building. I executed the mathematical calculations for determining the load
combinations and determination of the loads. I had considered the dead load, live load, wind
load, and seismic load for the development of a sophisticated high-rise building design. I
prepared the reports related to development of the project and accomplishment of the activities
involved in the project. I used following calculations for the estimation of the load combination
for static analysis:
A). 1.2(DL + IL ± EL)
B) 1.5(DL + IL)
C) 0.9 DL ± 1.5 EL
D) 1.5(DL ± EL)
Following calculations were made for the estimation of dynamic analysis:
A) DL + LL
B) DL + WL

C) DL + 0.8LL + 0.8WL

CE 2.2.5 My responsibilities throughout the project
I was responsible for managing the smooth flow of the project and prepare the reports
included the data and information related to the accomplished tasks, tasks those are left, and
tasks those are about to be done. I had to present a design that can hold the overall load of the
designed building and made certain changes if needed for the presentation of the design.

CE 2.3 Distinctive Activity
CE 2.3.2 Engineering knowledge and skills applied in the project
I applied my theoretical knowledge and practical learning of the Staad pro for the
development of the project. I collected the samples every day and specially before and after the
completion of single phase and identified the need of change those should be applied within the
development of the project. I also applied skills related to the civil engineering for the calculation
of the mathematical values as explained in the report. I learnt these calculations in my academics
that I used in this project t for the estimation of the results as shown in this report.

I prepared the report of the daily progress and quality of the material used within the
project and forwarded the daily report to the senior executives. Following calculation results

I used the above collected data for the following description of the deflection in the

CE 2.3.4 Identified issues and their solutions
2.3.4.1 Issues
The preparation of drawing using hand could be lacking in the precision and thus, proper
diagram cannot be prepared using the collected data. Analyzing the structure considering the
wind load, live load, and dead load combination was identified as one of the issue in the
development of the project that would be affecting the real design of the project in all ways.
2.3.4.2 Solutions
I used the Staad pro for the development of the design and diagrams as presented above
for the beam. It was helpful in describing the exact physical appearance and estimation of the
overall strength of the beam. Based on the universal value of the speed of wind, I had estimated
the following data related to the design considering Wind intensity and height considered is 1.5
kN/m2 at a height 90 m in CTC.

CE 2.3.5 Plan to produce creative and innovative work
I had considered all the loads’ factor for the preparation of the design and developed the
following design for the concrete design of the column 715:

I arranged several meetings during the development of the project for considering the
perspectives of every other staffs working in the same project. I prepared a excel sheet for

collecting the daily data and started recording the data into that sheet for ease and easy to be
maintained and shared.
CE 2.3.6 Collaborative work
I was one of the supervisor who was responsible for supervising the project, however,
there were many other individuals involved in the project who contributed in the successful;
delivery of the project. Every individual was assigned with different sectors as decided by the
project manager. I had accomplished my section of the work that includes the data collection,
sample testing, design evaluation, and supervising the activities involved in the project. The
project was delivered successfully only because of the contribution made by every team member
as they had accomplished the objectives and goals of the project in an effective and efficient
manner.
CE 2.4 Project Review
CE 2.4.1 Project Overview
I had to present a design for the high-rise building in this project that need to be
supervised and maintained in an effective and efficient manner. I was hired for supervising the
project activities and take care of the development of the project and how is it being designed.
The project was to deliver the great design that is capable of holding all the loads and could hold
all the obstacles in the path of the long run. I had contributed my previous learning from the live
projects and asked the manager to implement the objectives stated in the above report. I applied
my skills of staad pro for the development of the design of the beams and the buildings that
helped in delivering a successful project.

CE 2.4.2 My contribution to work
I had to make sure that the quality of the project t should be delivered of high quality. I
had prepared the daily report of the project and forwarded to the senior executives for the
evaluation of the growth of the project. I used to collect the samples of the project daily and
experiment n them for the identification of the features and quality of the resources being used in
this project. I had also prepared the design and model of the beams and other materials using
Staad Pro after the precise and accurate collection of the data related to the delivery of the
project. I managed the roles and responsibilities of individuals working under my guidance, and
motivated to accomplish the goals and objectives of the project.
