INTRODUCTION
Project management refer to application of key procedures, approaches, experience and
competencies to achieve specific or set of goals according to the acceptance as well as success
criteria within agreed parameters. This process drives the attention of project manager toward
leading the work of a group in order to reach all project aims within and according to given
constraints, which in return provide varied benefit to them. The current assignment will explain
the success factors, lessons learnt and appropriate suggestions based on overall analysis of High
Speed In project. Furthermore, it will clarify a career path in project management and skills that
person need to acquire to be a successful project manager.

High Speed in, there are different forms of success factors has been identified and these are;
Time saving-
The first thing about this project that make it successful in the UK and other nations as
well after implementation is current one (Success Factors, 2021). In the recent time, individual
person face a lot of challenges to survive as they work harder and wake-up early in the morning
to reach on time at workplace. Many of them are not successful to do so as they face issue to
chose one of those public transportation service that help them to step in the office on time. High
speed in project may provide several benefits to residents in term of saving their time to reach at
specific destination instead of dealing with problems to survive by using public transportation
excluding train where number of people are accessible and it takes time as well. It may enable
people to take opportunity to relax, work and socialize with other whom they want to meet from
longer time but unable to do that.
Proper planning-
Another success factor of a project is planning, which drive the attention of a project
manager to consider each and every force in order to develop the best plan that help to reach
expected outcome effectively and successfully (How To Identify Critical Success Factors in
Project Management, 2021). It can be said that appropriate planning allow manager to obtain
strategic aims and objectives related to project which they effort to handle with consideration of
cost contingencies. It defined as a success factor because with the help of appropriate plan, they

may move to next or further stages which increase level of their productivity and performance
appropriately. Without developing and having a plan, project manager is not being able to gain
success as outcome they may deal with critical issues.
Elaborating risk management-
Success related to any task or project is not that easy to gain for anyone in this business
world as they have to take varied factors into consideration (Purba and et. al., 2019). For
example, risk management as a key factor may contribute to make project successful because it
may help to determine the major challenges along with minor that put negative impact on desire
outcome of work. It can be said that risk management is highly essential in achieving strategic
objectives and aims. Achieving project management goals amid risks entail identifying and
implementing critical success factors. Risk management and register play important role to make
project successful because it may support to develop the best and most effective plan that
contribute to deal with key problems encompasses with work.
Connectivity-
Along with above, this key aspect may also contribute to make current project successful
in the business world, as it may have capability to connect with other forms of public
transportation options such as major airports, buses, local trains, and more, which is only
possible to have high speed in system. It may do not make an appropriate passenger rail chain
but require departing when passengers are ready to go (Yashiro and Kato, 2019). By connecting
with other types of transportation service, it may contribute to save individual time and efforts to
reach at specific location where they may struggle to book seat in intercity buses. It reduces risk
of delay reaching at airports for commercial or personal reasons.
Reflective statement-
From high speed in project, I have developed my understanding about managing a project
that help to grow my career and give me a chance to obtain desire outcome related to
professional career. I had learned how to conduct a risk analysis and what factors in need to
include in and consider as risks that put negative impact on final results and middles stages of
project success. Along with this understanding, I had also learned the roles and responsibilities of
a project manager, which drive their concentration toward following plan and interacting with
team-mates in ethical manner. Along with all, I had also gathered information and learned about

types of methodological methods such as stakeholder analysis, Gantt chart, work break down
structure, communication plan, etc.
Making appropriate and suitable recommendations
There are different forms of project management methodologies accessible in the
corporate world that has been utilized in regard to multiple types of projects that provided
benefits to each stakeholder. In the context of High speed In project, it recommended to project
manager that they may take below suggestion into their consideration because it may play
important role in success of work.
 Lean methodology is the best and most beneficial project management methodology that
a project manager can utilize and develop plan to conduct each activity accordingly
(Rudnichenko and et. al., 2021). It is one of those methodologies that play significant
role to make project successful and beneficial for key stakeholders who try to work
harder obtaining desire outcome. It can drive their attention toward setting the important
principles that might be helpful to cut additional assists and costs related to these that are
unnecessary. Utilization of this technique or method in return provide a lot of benefits to
project manager in term of enhancing their capability to manage teams and process
complexity appropriately & systematically.
 Furthermore, along with above suggestion, they can concentrate on implementing and
using other methods related to project management and that is effective communication
(Larsson and Larsson, 2020). It is quite important for a project manager to communicate
with their team members on daily basis instead of passing 2 -3 weeks, as it may lead to
increase risk of being failure. Along with development of effective communication plan,
they can take approach to utilize the best techniques in term of resources or sources that
make interaction between team members, project manager and other stakeholders easy
and encompasses transparency. They can take initiative to use email as it is one of the
most effective and fastest model of information sharing, which allow individual person to
collect and send key data about their own and other work. With the help of this practice,
individuals can gain benefit of building strong and trustworthy relation that play
significant role to make project successful as well as beneficial to all.
 Above two suggestions are useful and essential along with other as well in the context of
project success. Manager can take approach to consider useful methods of project

management because it enables them to stop occurrence of risks whether it is major or
minor that put negative impact on performance and productivity of individual and then
the expectations of stakeholders. For example, they can consider scrum methodology,
which is also named or know as agile project management technique (Brandl and et. al.,
2021.). It allows project manager to take key action into their mind in term of splitting
work into short cycles in clear manner. The division of work is may take from backlog
for each sprint interaction. They can take decision to divide big group of members into
small that can lead by a scrum master or experience holder for the duration of sprint after
which they can take approach to review own performance as well as others appropriately.
This method is suitable when project handler is striving to make continuous development
and improvement which in turn obtain outcome more than their expectations.
Reflective report of project considering a career path in project management
Career path is defined as a sequences and set of jobs that leads to short, medium and long
term career aims of individuals. With the help of this method a candidate may develop and grow
professionally within a company, where success and growth factors are available in bulk (The
Project Management Career Path, 2021). It may cover different types of growth progression,
including traditional vertical, dual, horizontal, and career ladders outside a firm. Career
development plan play vital role in growth and success of individuals within an ongoing
mechanism that may enhance their competencies and knowledge that might be lead to mastery of
their current role or profession, and transfers to different positions (Akkermans and et. al., 2020).
In project management field, there are several jobs or career opportunities are existed such as
construction, engineering, software development, IT, consulting, project manager, etc. it can be
said that the project manager is the best job or career path in the field of project management,
because it may give wide scope of developing new skills and improving understanding about
current areas.
A candidate usually feel more engaged when they have faith that their employer is quite
concerned about their progress and caters avenues to reach career aims in effective manner while
fulfilling organizational mission and vision (Lo Presti and Elia, 2020). A career development
plan may give these candidates benefit n term of enhancing key skills. Implementation of this
plan may also put direct impact on entire success of individual by driving their attention toward
improving morale, in term of developing skills and setting career departmental objectives

appropriately (Nauman, Zheng and Ahmad, 2021). This technique may give people chance to
spend more time in an entry stage project management designation such as project manager
before working like that. It can be said that working in this role may help individuals to learn and
develop understanding about project administration and bolster their experience before they
apply to chosen designation position.
Discussing skills that required to be a successful project manager.
In the job market, different forms of employment chances and career growth
opportunities available, that a candidate may select according to their interest, effectiveness,
confidence to work and accomplish specific task and skills that they may utilize to gain desire
outcome. Here, I want to describe key competencies that I need to acquire to be a successful and
projective project manager. I need to develop or improve combination of hard and soft skill that
include:
Problem solving-
I want to be a project manager and work effectively, which is possible when I acquire key
skill and that is problem solving, because project managers face many challenges. They tend to
resolve each challenge in effective manner by developing and using the best techniques. It can be
said that more than being a reactive personality, the best and experience project manager is
proactive, and they effort to behave accordingly. After acquiring this skill I would take benefit of
solving key issues that is one of my accountabilities as project manager.
Risk management-
This skill includes essential activities that a project manager conduct in effective manner
for purpose of obtaining success and succeeding their project. I want to develop this competence
to perform as a chosen profession. With this skill I can conduct practice to identify and plan for
potential risks that impact negatively upon my work and further strategies related to that. To
become a successful project manager I have to be able to determine risks at outset of a task and
develop appropriate mitigation plan.
Leadership and management skill-
Along with above two, I also tend to acquire more skills such as current one. With
effective leadership and management skill I will perform effectively and productively (7
Essential Skills for Project Managers, 2019). I might be given me chance to lead a team of
skilled players and manager their performance appropriately that is quite important and

beneficial for everyone. These two types of competencies could give a power to me in term of
building diverse and productive workforce that help to achieve set aims related to a particular
project.
Team work-
With above skills, I need to acquire teamwork competency as well, because it made me
capable to be successful project manager and lead teams of talented candidates or diverse
workforce. With this skill I will obtain many advantages such as encourage team members to
perform productively, enhance their performance level and boost morale more than last few
weeks or months. Being a project manager, it is my responsibility to builds trustworthy relation
with all and create transparency between individual person at workplace.
ICTs-
A project manager work with different types of technologies and utilize the same to work
event better and obtain positive outcomes on time. They may do so because of having and using
ICTs skill, which I also want to develop. It may play important role in career success and
individual growth in the project management field. It gives me chance to develop the best plan,
organize the same and direct everything according to that. With the help of this skill I would take
approach to utilize advanced technologies.
Decision making and critical thinking-
Without having these two forms of skill, individual person it unable to get expected result
for which they work harder or even in appropriate manner than before regarding or related to
specific profession. I want to develop both types of competencies that would help to solve a
situation and provide creative idea related to particular project or task. It made me capable to
develop professionally, accomplish task or work faster and stronger my commitment level. It
plays vital role in career development and performance enhancement.
Time management and scheduling-
To be a successful project manager, I tend to acquire time manageable skill which enable
me to create an appropriate schedule that drive my a well as other attention toward conducting
each practice accordingly. Time manageable competence allow me to develop a specific plan
with division of different stages for which I am accountable to accomplish on time without any
mistake that affect negatively and impact final outcome of my hard work at the end of project
completion.

CONCLUSION
From above discussion, it has been concluded that by developing effective and
appropriate risk management plan, project manager has overcome the negative impact and
occurrence of varied risks in appropriate manner. By following career path in project
management, they have obtained the benefit of success in term of achieving set aims.
Furthermore, by summing up above analysis, it has been summarized that skills' development
has contributed to make a person successful project manager. It enables them to achieve desire
outcome whether it related to personal or professional career. It has given them power to apply
different types of methods and techniques in the context of specific project in effective and
systematic way.
