INTRODUCTION
An academic goal is based on the objective or ambition which are related to educational
success. It is setting academic goals that help for understanding student achievements and
accomplishment through career. The assignment will describe about the different set goals and
identify that how it will important for university student. It will determine the short-term and
long-term goals in career development of student. Furthermore, the documentations will discuss
about the different methods which help for improving capabilities and learn a lot of new
information.
ASSESSMENT-1
Describe that how set goals important and also identify short term as well as long term goals for
university student.
Goal setting is fundamental concept in context of short-term and long-term success.
Afterall, it is very difficulties to get the specific desired before clearly defined where that
destination. Goal always helping for student to focus on the journey to collect their own set
achievements (Burns, Martin and Collie, 2019). In most of cases, it also allocating their
resources and time efficiently. In this way, it helps for encouraging student towards their
significant goals and objectives.
As per academic perspectives, setting goals always improve performance by ensuring that
accountable for their own success as well as failure. Student set up their own goals which
translating to feeling of confidence and success (Mitrofanova, Sherstobitova and Filippova,
2019). Sometimes, it directly turns leads to greater productivity and level of confidence. A
specific goal give student something to plan and work, continuously growing to progress with
skills and knowledge. Even fuels confidence and ambitions by motivating student determination
through offering a sense of pride when success become finally achieved (Cheavens and et.al.,
2019). On the other hand, without goals student cannot float from area of life, achieving
accomplishment and doing better ways. So as important to establish goals which creates a proper
sense of clarity and correlation between working process.
On the basis of university educational perspectives, it can be divided into two different
goals such as short term and long term.
Short-term goals are completely related to short time frame such as few weeks. For
example- Student may want to get higher percentage on particular subject. In this way, it can be

identified the short-term goals. In another way, long term goal is based on the performance of
student where how they are qualifying in class and getting into particular university
(Mitrofanova, Sherstobitova and Filippova, 2019).
Both type of goals is positively affecting on their student capabilities and abilities where
how they can achieve successful position in global marketplace (Lakanen and Kärkkäinen,
2019). These types of goals are directly related to career enhancement because it helps to take
each step down in right direction. As a result, student can start to understand reality and develop
own depth knowledge in career growth.
Discouragement, rejection and failures are different problem that may face by student
while working towards significant goals (Dobronyi, Oreopoulos and Petronijevic, 2019). Many
cases, it takes way to long success for achieving long-term goals and build confidence within
student. It keeps reminding for student to put own efforts and focus on their significant goals.
Analyse that how student learn a lot of new information on regular basis and what are important
method to improve their capabilities.
In university, it become easier for student to learn new things because teacher support for
motivating towards particular subject. Here, they have tries to do some practices and true
strategies to develop student interest towards learning. It can be used different methods to learn
new things such as comprehension of materials (Zulfiqar and et.al., 2019). Exam also server the
better understanding to student where they can make plan as per experience. It will gear towards
issues during exam process. Exam is the most common approach that will help for verifying
student learning. The student learns new thing to use visual image which is known as work
substitution. It helps for identifying information through visualization.
Class lecture is another method for learning new information because teacher prepared
handouts. It provides brief idea about concept to student. It enables to determine information that
is given during class session (Mitrofanova, Sherstobitova and Filippova, 2019). In this way,
student may proper way to organise information in the form of notes. It also influencing the
student activities in term of information finding and memory enhancement.
Research is mainly representing long-term memory that will enhance when student
coordinate with retrieval practices. It can be taking test in retrieval practices and act as recalling
information for studied purpose (Brereton, Schaefer and Reid, 2019). Thus, it is beneficial for
student to take test practices and also motivated towards the own test process. It will help for

identifying own capabilities and abilities in academic studies. On the other hand, there are
different type of tool used in the learning and identifying new information. It is helpful for
student to use them different online tool which provided by university. In short-term and long-
term goals, E-learning is the most common platform which mainly used by student for
information gathering (Mitrofanova, Sherstobitova and Filippova, 2019). It provides better
opportunities to improve skill and knowledge on particular topic. In regularly, it reviewing the
learning materials which help for better way to train their own abilities what student have studied
with more accuracy. As per analysis, it concluded that student must require to learn lot of new
information at university by using different methods which help to remember new information
easily.
CONCLUSION
From above discussion, it concluded that an academic goal is important part of career
enhancement which are related to the objective or ambition in the success. It has set up academic
goals that help for understanding student achievements and accomplishment through career. It
has summarised about the different set goals and identify that how it will important for university
student, identifying the short-term and long-term goals in career development of student.
Furthermore, the documentation is discussed about the different methods which help for
improving capabilities and learn a lot of new information.
