This report comprises two individual essays for a Study Skills for Higher Education module. The first essay, weighted at 30% and limited to 1000 words, focuses on analyzing listening skills in an academic context. It requires students to discuss three listening challenges, suggest strategies for improvement, and describe personal experiences. The second essay, weighted at 70% and limited to 2000 words, addresses transferable skills, aiming to identify six skills essential for university success and their workplace relevance, along with six recommendations for improving CVs. Both essays require extensive research, adhering to specific formatting guidelines, including academic writing, referencing, and essay structure, with a minimum of six and twelve references respectively, from the last ten years. The assessments evaluate the ability to apply knowledge of learning strategies, comprehension, and the use of library information, assessed against specified marking criteria, including essay style, referencing, and the quality of responses to the questions.
