INTRODUCTION
Skills Audit is define as systematized assessment of student’s research competencies as well
as understanding. Moreover, audit facilitates evidence of improving proficiency and this is
closely related with evaluation of requirements i.e. determining any needs for orientation or
personal development. In addition to this, it is also regarded as review of existent competency
against the skills individuals required at present as well as in upcoming times. Also, skills audit
assists students or individuals to determine their proficiency, improve competency profile,
evaluating their skill gaps in effective and efficient way (Butera, 2020). The skills can be
classified in personal, interpersonal and knowledge based competencies. There are several
proficiency such as presentation, academic writing, academic reading, time management, team
work, research, and so on that are required through student during fulfilling their high education.
This is significant for them to develop that proficiencies as well as appropriately work based on
them for effectively complete their education. The main objective of this report is to conduct
skills analysis by defining it, understanding their importance for student and ways to develop
those skills in order to accomplish higher education.
Skills Analysis
This is essential to perform upon few skills sets for attaining success within higher studies.
When I studied into higher secondary, this was crucial for me to evaluate whole competency
where I am not efficient and thereafter concentrate on that proficiency. So, after performing self
analysis, I get to know that there are three key skills upon which I have to focus. So there are
various ways to assure that I am efficient into competencies as well as may succeed into higher
education by developing these skills.
Note taking skills
Note taking is undertaken as very crucial ability which may be improved by individuals
and efficiently utilised numerous aspects throughout their studies. Also, it may be undertaken as
way in which information get recorded which helps me as students to remember thing later
(Debreceny and et. al., 2020). There are many factors which are involves in this particular
competency like effectual listening skills as it aids me to appropriately written down key points
which will give benefits later on. In higher education, notes mainly include some new
vocabulary, theories and more.

Along with this, it is essential for me as by assistance of this I can able to remember things and
information in effectual manner. Also, It helps me to improve my ideal conceptual mental
presentation as well as understand all matters of subject. So, I have to perform this with
assistance of three steps that are lecture, at the time and after class. As at the time of lecture, I
has to listen actively and written down all main things. While after class I need to perform based
upon that notes as well as recheck that again. I feel confident but not so much so it is important
for me to improve my note making skills by regular practicing of making notes, visual mind
mapping and I can also make chart for effective notes and so on.
Time management skills
Respective skills are regarded as ability for prioritizing their activities and task and then
delegate appropriate time for all tasks. The concept of time management concepts comes in
understanding eh differentiation among important and urgent in clarified way. In order to
accomplish the higher education it is vital for me as a student to develop this skill as it is helpful
for me to perform the task in efficient manner on time along with goods work quality (Fossung,
Fotoh and Lorentzon, 2020). I feel some confident in this particular competency as it is one of
the vital skills which has significant role into my professional and personal life. Moreover, for
developing particular proficiency in well defined way, I will take guidance from my seniors,
formed longer and shorter goals and scheduling list to whole task.
Presentation skills
Presentation skills is considered as capabilities which allows person to interact with other
people convey messages with clearance, involves individuals into presentation as well as
acknowledging and interpreting listeners mind- sets. Also, this competency are undertaken to be
one of the vital skills s for students within higher education institutions. Because it aids them to
develop its proficiency and they get motivated for using systematized methods to render its view
points in class room. In addition to this, it improves the way individuals place forwards their
points and increase their power of persuasive (Roussy, Barbe and Raimbault, 2020). A respective
skill is essential for students as this assists them to deliver their points with fill confidence as
well as encourage other to listen. I feel not so much confident about this skill as I am not very
much efficient to communicate my views to others in verbal manner. I am lacking in particular
competency so, for developing this particular competency I utilise some methods as well as
strategies. For instance, I will pay more attention towards my body language, do more practicing

Based on the above, it has been concluded that it is very crucial for students to performed
skills audit as this helps them to determine their proficiency, improve competency profile,
evaluating their skill gaps in effective and efficient way. Moreover, skills are analysed through
which I get to know that on which competencies I has to work more and how to develop it in
well defined manner. So that students can able to accomplish their higher education and gain
competitive edge. In addition to this, with aids of this, individuals become more proficient into
its specific field. It has been also determined that, there are numerous ways by which they can
evaluate above analysed competencies for their own advantageous. Beside this, the learner have
to provide more priority to other skills like academic, team work, self organisation and many
more as this assists them to be competent in their personal and professional life at upcoming
times.
