INTRODUCTION
Higher eduction is the kind of higher-education learning that is giving in post-secondary
institution of learning which can be a diploma, degree or certificate(Webb2017). In context to
this, It required various skills for attaining the proper learning in an effective and efficient
manner. Various skills required for the learning includes communication skills, presentation
skills, problem-solving skills.
TASK
Examine the skills needed to be a higher education learner:
Higher eduction education learner needs various skills and these collectively skills are
called the higher education skills. These attributes are very important in order to get employment
in any field so an individual must have the ample of skills like good communication skills, team-
working, IT skills and presentation skills so that they can easily survive their job profile. These
skills are associated with the higher-education and brief explanation of various skills and their
important for the higher eduction learner are as follows:
Academic writing skills: It is the aspect which is concerned with the type of writing of
written by the writer and it associated with the proper structure, clear, concise and
supported by the evidence(Carpenter and Harvey,2020). There must be formal
documentation with the right use of vocabulary and less use of complex words so that
reader can easily understand the meaning of the given matter. Writer also includes the
supported evidence so that concept and theories are explained with proof and also focuses
on correct framing of sentence with simple words. There is no such statement which
hurts the sentiments of any religion or community in order to create the dispute among
the various groups.
Effective team working skills: This is the skills which need high coordination and
corporation so that work can be dine in an effective and efficient manner in order to
achieve the targeted goal(Restrepo, et. Al,. 2017). It is the way of working with the
coordination of the various individual that aiming to achieve the common objective. A
individual must listen to their team member and invite their ideas so that they feel
motivated and work effectively for attain the common objectives. This skills also help in

working with their fellow learners so they task can be accomplished in an appropriate
manner.
Presentation skills: It is the skills in which the individual have deliver their though in
front of the large audience so that the learner can make audience understand about their
concern regarding the respective topics. This skills involve various aspect such as type of
presentation, structure of presentation, voice of speaker, designs of the slides and body
language of the participant. These all attributes must be inbuilt with in the speaker so that
they can deliver a perfect presentation. It also help in enhancing the personality of the
individual and also help in get over form the stage fear and increasing the confidence of
the learner.
Skills of reflection using simple modes of reflection: Reflection is the process of
analysing their past achievement and the performance and also involve the what the
learner have learnt and what they need to develop in order to develop their personality
that will help in personal development of the individual(Shorofi and Arbon, 2017).
Communication and IT skills: It is the method of transferring the information from one
persona to other in order to make them understand. Information can be verbal( audio,
video and speech) or non-verbal that includes tome of individual, body language that
reflects their ideas(Prestridge, 2019). Communication is way of talking to the other
person and also make them understand their prospective so that they can approach in the
right way. IT skills are the skills in which the individual is having the good command on
technical skills so that they can can work in an effective manner.
Problem solving and decision-making skills: It is the skills which is concern with the
developing the sources that helps in solving the various problems that is associated with
the specific problems (Pugh and Broome 2020). There is a situation called dilemma in
which the the individual is in confusion while choosing best out of best so for solving this
problem it is important to have the good command on decision making so that best
decision can be made that will leads to achieve the business goal of the learner.
